How the day runs: If you've never driven on a track before and want someone experienced to give you instruction and help with how to drive better, faster or safer, or even if you've done a couple of track days and just want to ask some questions (no matter how silly they may seem), we have this at no extra charge available throughout the day. Firstly, when you arrive at the track, find a place to park and empty all loose objects out of the car. Ensure there's nothing loose in the engine bay and that there are no leaks, that your brake lights work and you have all your wheel nuts on and have tightened your sump plug etc. Next step is to go to the office and sign on for the day, take your licence with you and you will be given a scruitineering sheet. Once you receive that, it's time to drive your car to the scruitineering shed, it's the only building right next to the parking. Your car will be checked to make sure it's safe to go on the track, and it will then be assigned a number which is your number for the day. Once you've done all that, it's now time to wait for the drivers' briefing to begin (which will be announced on the loud speakers throughout the pits, and starts at 8.30am sharp). Once the drivers' briefing is over, all the drivers are split into groups based on experience so that everyone is comfortable in their group. One group is then allowed on the track at a time for evenly-timed sessions. Once one group comes off, another goes on. This repeats until the end of the day with a short break around lunch so officials and helpers can get some food and drinks. Groups are small to ensure we have lots of space on the track. Groupings will be based on previous lap times and experience That's basically it! Please note there will be no refunds unless the event is sold out and there are reserves One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. When on normal roads we strive to maintain good relations with the authorities as well as the public in general. When attending one of Skylines Australia NSW events please try to: * Be aware of surrounding environment and act accordingly. * Drive courteously on the state’s roads as a true enthusiast should. * Understand how important it is to maintain the good name of SAUNSW and thus, treat others accordingly. * Any misbehaviour will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave. *** Details may change. check back regularly. *** On the day please bring your Motorsport license and current membership card as we need to visually see it. Well, ladies & gents... They say that there's always a silver-lining to every mishap... Having had to cancel our traditional End of Year Cruise last December due to the weather, we decided to instead host a social meet at Cafe at Waterview as we didn't want the weather to completely rain on our parade! I have been tossing up for a while whether or not I should do a thread on my build as I feel like I am doing the exact same thing that everyone else has done, in saying that Maybe people can share some ideas with me to help point me in the right direction or maybe someone might find what I am doing interesting, Also a way for me to keep track of time and mods etc. Who knows what I am getting myself into but here goes. The story of where and how this began. I had a new guy come work with me who owned a R33, I always loved Skylines but never owned one and had not been around them a whole bunch. Even though this 33 was a pretty rough and was in need of some love and care I still remember loving every second in it. After a few weeks sure enough my now good mate unfortunately lost his license and had the car defected pretty badly. I still decided to buy it off him with the intention of fixing it up….. Was not to be as the list was massive, so I stripped what I could, GT3076, FFP, Jasma Exhaust system. It was great fun stripping it down. I got to learn a whole bunch about the RB25 and 33's alike. Shot of what she looked like As you can see we did not have huge amounts of garage space to work with but like most people with these cars, you make do. Once everything was taken that was worth while I went on the hunt for another 33 that would be clean and limited mods (cheap so the mrs would approve). certainly took a little while but when I compare to how long some people take to find the "perfect" one I realise I bought mine really quick!! So that’s when I found her. The car and the owner, it was 94 s1 silver 33, Had tein adjustable coilovers, Nismo cluster, EBC and a few other goodies, limited mods exactly what I wanted. Female owner who had a passion for cars and was awesome to deal with. Not to mention her brother in law having an incredible AE86 out the back that we got to look at and talk about while we signed everything! First photo I took: Wing was removed at some point, had 350z wheels and was a generally clean car, 20 year old car never going to be immaculate I now owned two skylines with the intention of flogging the old s2. (our last photo together) Managed to do just that, it was gone two days after buying my new one. While buying the new car I was fortunate enough to meet someone who would be able to help me through the adventures ahead, Luckily enough a Exec for SAU NSW so now I wont feel awkward going to events! Or trying to rip something apart because he can come fix it

We know everyone loves a good cruise, so thanks to your events organiser yours truly, after a few months of neglecting my events job, we're going on one again. CAMS permit: SAU30092012 permit Sep 12.pdf Okay so here's the details; Date: Sunday 30th Sep 2012 Who: Anyone with any car (doesn't have to be a Skyline) but Skylines prefered We're taking a nice cruise from Kirrawee down to Headlands Hotel in Austinmer. From where? Well we're meeting up at 10AM, for a 10:30AM Sharp leave, at the parking lot near the corner of Waratah St and Bath Road in Kirrawee, up the road from Just Jap.. Where to then? Well, we head left out of that carpark to Toronto Parade, turn left, and follow this down to the Princes Highway. After travelling down to the Princes Highway, we hang a right heading for the Royal National Park turn off at Sutherland. As we near the National Park at Sutherland, we need to turn left down Farnell Ave. Once we turn here, there will be a bit of room on the left where we can pull over and get everyone to bunch back up. As we head into the Royal National Park, we'll be informing the "Gatesmen" that we are not stopping in the National Park and travelling through to Wollongong. (Which we are, into a northern Suburb of Wollongong). This means we don't have to pay to go through. From here we just shoot through the Royal National Park and pop out down the bottom at Bald Hill. After Bald Hill, we will be taking the left turn down Lawrence Hargrave Drive. We will follow Lawrence Hargrave Drive down until Headlands Ave, at which point we will turn left, and pull into the carpark at Headlands Hotel. Now this hotel does have some "Down Under Hollywood Class", being the main on-site filming location for the Australian Show headLand There is plenty of park land around the Hotel, and after a bit of a feed, I will be proposing a bit more socialising and some fun activities like photos and stuffs (Weather permitting) If the weather does fault, then we'll just stay inside, have our chats, and shoot some pool. On this cruise we will ALL be sticking to the speed limit. There will be NO DRIFTING. NO BURNOUTS NOTHING ILLEGAL! We will be the most courteous users on the road, and we will not be doing ANYTHING to cause any disrepute for the club. As with all SAU:NSW events, this cruise will run under a CAMS permit. This will be another fun day, with the only cost a bit of fuel, and what ever you decide to eat and drink. For those of you who decide you need more than one or two during the afternoon, please organise a safe way home. On this cruise we will ALL be sticking to the speed limit. There will be NO DRIFTING. NO BURNOUTS NOTHING ILLEGAL! Looking forward to seeing you guys there! BRING A FULL TANK OF FUEL!!!!

(Thanks Owen) available HERE (Click me baby) Those of you that have been to one of these before will agree, this is the best money you can spend as far as driving time for an event. The event will be run after run until 4.30pm, and considering most runs are under 1 minute AND that we're kicking off at 9am, that's a lot of runs This is a safe event where you only go as hard as you want to, there's no pressure, one car on a course at a time. Perfect for beginners to have a first try at driving their pride and joy off the streets. With that said, there's usually some friendly competition between mates, which is great to watch Timing for the day; Scrutineering/sign on starts 7.00am Scrutineering/sign on ends 8.30am (don't show up at 8.25am, come with plenty of time to spare) Drivers brief 8.40am (mandatory attendance all drivers) Runs start 9.00am Lunch approx 12.30pm depending on how the day is going (One hour) Runs stop 4.45pm Gates close 5.00pm Entrants please note: -All entered cars must arrive in time for and pass scrutineering, no exceptions. -All drivers must be licensed (AASA or CAMS) and show valid licence and expiry date at sign on. -All cars must have an insurance approved fire extinguisher secured within drivers reach. -Sidepipes are not allowed.
