What causes did you find for body/suspension squeeks and clunks? My r33 is modified and it does make a variety of noises while driving. I've just gone and replaced my coilovers for new, replaced my caster rods and even replaced the passenger side front lower control arm ball joint and to my great shock; all the squeaks and noises I had before, I still have! I'm especially confused as, in particular, I'm running out of things to replace on the front left, but I still have a clunk noise. So it got me thinking, what parts of the car have you proven were the cause of squeaks, clunks or general body noise? What have you changed which has solved it? I love my car and want to get it as perfect as a 20 year old car can be, so lets share the ways to make it a more pleasant drive.

R32 GTR Squeaking noise under dash Hi, I've had my R32 GTR for a while now and suddenly it's started to make a squeaking noise form the dash area, or underneath, when driving. I've taken the dash off and checked everything (and removed the famous bubble) and put the car back together, but the noise is still there (bummer). I guess the only was now to find it would be to drive the car without the dash and get someone to listen. The sound is as if you cut styrofoam with a blunt knife. As there isn't really too much under the dash my thoughts are that it is likely to be the heater unit... Has anyone experienced this? Also, if I take the dash off and drive the car, would there be a technical issue (I know it won't be legal) to drive it without the instrument cluster? Any help would be appreciated!!! Cheers, Chris

Hi all, Apologies I know this has been asked before but getting nowhere... Just changed timing belt, and replaced all accessory belts at the same time because I had some squealing at startup. Now, though, it's REALLY bad, and won't go away until I've done a couple of minutes of driving, then rev'd beyond 3,000 and let off the accelerator. All new belts, various degrees of tension (but fairly tight for what I'd like). How have people solved belt squeal? I've had this issue with several stageas now, and I don't know what the common element is. I suspect it's glycol on the belts from filling the radiator. VERY frustrating! I've had the car back from workshops after 100,000K services and it's had the problem; I've had an engine rebuilt with new belts and same issue; my friends cars have it bad... pulling my hair out with this one. I've tried: - spraying water on the belts, both stopped and while running - spraying water/detergent on the belts, both stopped and while running - brake/parts cleaner (good old carburettor cleaner, dissolves most things) - tightening belts - loosening belts - changing engines (not to fix belt squeal, but it didn't help) - rain dance So annoying, after doing so much work over the weekend to replace timing belt, to then have to drive around in what sounds like the loudest mouse choir on wheels. Any ideas which I haven't already tried would be welcome. cheers DaveB
