Hi all, First post here, have been a skyline owner for some time. I'm driving a bog stock R33 GTST S1 (1994) with approx 170xxx km's on the clock. During some routine maintenance (I'm a mechanic by trade) I've discovered oil in my intake, from which I deduce my turbo is on the way out. I doubt it has been off the car since production, so it's no real surprise it's on the way out. Anyway, I have no real desire to chase big power out of the car (it's my daily driver and don't want to send my fuel costs through the roof) so I'm simply thinking of replacing the turbo with another stock turbo after getting it rebuilt. However, if I can, I'll stick another turbo onto the stock manifold and just keep the stock wastegate and run standard boost through it so I don't have to modify the stock computer and injectors. So! The question I'm asking is, can anyone put me onto a brand/make of turbo that I can simply bolt onto the existing manifold/dump pipe? Otherwise, I'll just chase down another stock turbo and rebuild it. Thanks guys. (p.s, if there is another thread with this information, put me in that direction and I'll delete this one)

I wasn't really blown away by the RC of windows 8 but it was functional for the most part (i was concerned about not having MC with it but M$ have changed their minds possibly i couldnt confirm on the M$ website) Source and it certainly was a bit snappier to load on a SSD, my thinking is for a $40 upgrade you cant really go wrong? other peoples opinions? seems there is only 2 versions also? Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Pro Pack that later having remote desktop stuff and something else that escapes me atm

A couple months ago I noticed my r33 gtst hicas ball joints were flogged but neglected the issue. I recently had a full wheel alignment done and the rear end is still snaking under acceleration and deceleration, so i decided I'd better have a closer look at the problem. As expected the balljoint are creating play and they need to be replaced asap. I've had a solid look on the net for the best upgrade without buying a whole hicas lockout system and not much luck. I have a lock bar already and i dont want to tamper with the aligment since i just paid for one. Does anyone know where i can get solid bushes to replace the worn ball joints or what the best upgrade would be. this is the only option i have found so far - http://www.jdmgarageuk.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=843. I've herd rubber(non solid bushes) would create unwanted play...

Hi guys, I'm dreaming up a list of next mods once the weekender is sold. I've checked several threads like this and this but many of them seem quite dated - I'm looking for 2012 information. The car is an R34 GTT with basic upgrades: FMIC, full 2.5" turbo back, high flow cat, TurboTech V2 manual boost controller and Nistune. It's currently pushing just shy of 200 rwkw. I'd be aiming for a reliable 250-280 rwkw in the next stage, preferably without too much lag. I like the idea of a high flow as it bolts straight in. Is this power level possible with a high flow? Are there other companies besides GCG doing good high flows? Besides high flow, what are the other options when staying low mount? Something like a HKS GT-RS? Also I assume the basic supporting mods are a Z32 AFM, 040 fuel pump and injectors (what size?). What else is needed? Also I'd be retaining the Tiptronic auto, would it cope? What kind of overall cost would I be looking at? I'm not keen on doing engine internals, cams, or running E85 etc. Any feedback and recent experiences welcome. Thanks

Hey guys, I'm new to the turbo scene and I'm looking to upgrade my stock snail. I've looked on the SAU fourms for some opinions and also asked some friends with skylines but not really getting any clear advice yet. Here is the current setup to the best of my knowledge: 1995 R33 GTS=T Series 1.5 RB25DET Mods: 2.5 inch exhaust w/ dual 2 1/4 inch tip frontmount intercooler frontmount oil cooler oversized radiator bosh electronic fuel pump (rated to 650hp) bigger injectors (not sure which ones) Greddy e-01 boost management 4" pod filter Z32 AFM Hicas lock bar Splitfire coilpacks Lightened flighwheel Heavy Duty Clutch Front strut bar Slotted and cross drilled front disks w/ ultimate pads after ive chosen which turbo to upgrade to I'm also going to install a nistune chip on the z32 ecu. So guys what do you think is my best bet for a new turbo. looking to spend about $800-$1000 not much more. Also one of the guys on here have offered me a T04E for $750 with dump pipe and external gate. Is this any good? and is it a good price for a used turbo? Thanks guys.

Hi fellas, I recently went for a drive in the high country and it appears that the stock brakes on my GTT can't quite match 275rwkw, surprise. I've had a look through the various threads via search but wanted some opinions for my specific circumstances: Looking for better stopping power and more accurate pedal feel Looking for less fade in repeat use Prefer keeping stock calipers and rotor size - I'm running the stock 17" wheels) Want to keep the ABS obviously I'm thinking of the following setup: DBA T3 Club Spec 4000 Series slotted rotors all around (what's the best place to buy, eBay?) QFM HPX pads High quality brake fluid (any recommendations?) Would this setup give me what I'm after? What about braided lines or master cylinder, any point in looking into those? Anything else I've missed? Thanks heaps!

Fellow skyline owners.. I think the time has come for me to upgrade to a GTR. To be honest i've never driven one before and I've had my GTT for a while now. The one that I'm lookin at is stock standard VSpec with an exhaust and intake upgrade. Sorry for the noob question. But I've read forums where people were not happy with the GTR initially and they spend some money on upgrading the turbos and boost controller etc.. How much difference is there between a midly modified GTT (blitz intercooler, kakimoto exhast, greddy profec b spec boost controller set at 11psi and HKS intake & bov) and a stock Vspec GTR I dont want any regrets later for spending so much

These are brand new in the box purple Tial MVR (44mm) wastegates and Tial Q-valves. These were purchased from Full-Race and are laser etched with their logo. Tial products have pretty much set the standard in the industry, and both of these are the latest offering. The quality is amazing, and they look stunning under the hood in purple. The wastegates offer the unique feature of being able to plumb coolant through them to keep them cool, which will help keep them from scorching as most wastegates do. My intentions were to install both Q-valves, one hot side, one cold side, mostly for aesthetics, but I was told it would have no degrading effect on performance. I would prefer to sell them in pairs or as a few set, but willing to work out other arrangements. Willing to ship at buyers expense, please contact me with any questions. Thank you (x2) Tial MVR wastegates $550 (x2) Tial Q-valaves $400

G35 front calipers onto R34 25gt Essentially the title says it all, have people done this conversion on a skyline before? I've mainly seen it done on Silvias to great success since they either swap in gtst or brembos from skylines anyways. I would assume the swap onto an N/A r34 would be identical to gtt swap just needing the uprights drilled to14mm. Would be a decent upgrade from the 280x26mm rotor to a 320x28 from the g35. Biggest reason behind this route is that I'm located in Canada and sources parts for skylines is quite difficult quickly so I decided to try and swap it to a domestic vehicle with plenty of stock for less headaches. Thanks for any one with more info on this setup!

GReddy Performance Damper Remote Control Kit For sale is a GReddy Performance Damper Remote Control Kit. It came with my GReddy type S coilovers that were installed on my S13 ~10 years ago. However, this kit has never been installed. I've simply carted it with me for nearly 10 years like some sort of automotive hoarder. As a result, the box is a little bent and some internal cardboard partitioning is missing. But the unit is in perfect condition. I've run it out and plugged all the components together to get my head around the wiring with the intent of installing, but that is as far as my lazy ass ever got. I kept it around with the intent of sticking it on my next car - an R34 with BC BR coilovers - because as I understand it, these also fit BC BR dampers. Still never installed them! Be aware, while these fit all GReddy Type S Performance Dampers (and some other makes), some require spacers to fit under the bonnet. No spacers are included here. $400. Willing to post nationally at buyers expense. Pickup available from Melbourne's S.E. 3169.

Hi all, been trawling through pages and pages and I can't find answers to all of my questions so I'm hoping to get some help in this thread. Background, I have a 2002 M35 Autech Axis that is due for a brake change (front pads and rotors are gone). I've managed to find a set of 350Z Brembos (cause why replace when you can upgrade) for a decent price and am just trying to get some more information before making the jump. From my digging, this is what I've found: Should be a direct bolt on however R34 GTT threads mention modification to the dust fan / bolt but unsure if the Brembos will face the same problems Information points to that the 18" Autech wheels might not fit but can't find confirmation Have seen no mention to the upgrade affecting ABS #justdoit What I wanted to know are the following: How bolt on is bolt on? Will the same changes need to done as per the R34 GTTs? Is there a guide somewhere specific to the Brembos? The kit comes with calipers, rotors and lines. Will that be all I need besides the pads? Anyone to confirm the 18" Autech wheels will/won't fit the Brembos Thanks! - Yang

Heyyyy guys. i have a r33 wreck at home i have starting stripping which has a rb25det standard in it with low compression and blown head gasket. the engine still runs but overheats slowly and sounds like its running on 5cyclinders. i purchased the car for $1000 so i dont expect much and i kind of got it for parts. moving on. i just recently aquired a r32 skyline with a rb20det and ill tell you this is the first time i have had a r32 and i like it. i like the r32 more then the r33 but the car is heaps slower then the r33. could be something wrong i dont know. a couple of questions i have and i would appreciate as much advice and feedback as i can get from the experts here or people who have done what im doing before. should i sell the r33 wreck and keep some parts and put them into the r32 or should i do up the rb20det r32 and sell the rb25det or should i sell the rb20det and put in the rb25det after having it rebuilt. i see you can get rebuild kits cheap off ebay and most of the money is going to be labour. im located in perth if anyone on here can help me out be greatly appreciated. the rb20det is running without a problem but is slow the rb25det is running on 5 cyclinders but runs faster and better but im too scared to drive it because of the head gasket and overheating (overheats slowly) dont want to do more damage. what would be the best thing to do, taking into consideration i have alot of cars and i dont really want to spend stupid amounts of money but it would be nice to get 300-400hp out of one of the engines for under 5-6k other thing would it be worth putting the r33 turbo on the rb20det r32 and boost it to around 12-14psi it looks like the rb20det is running 10psi currently with stock turbo as the gauge says. the car is really loud and looks like the BOV is making most the noise and turbo spools nice. so currently i have a complete r33 rb25det and r32 rb20det can i make one really good car out of two or should i just wreck and sell all the r33 stuff and put that money into the r32 rb20det reason i ask is because alot of guys here are removing the rb20det and selling them to s13,s14,180 guys that are full on with the ca or sr engines and want a RB but not prepared to do a 25/26/30 config also how much is a rb20det worth and a rb25det i got told rb25det sells around $1500-$2000 without box. i dont want to sell the box i got offered $800 for mine because of the head gasket needing repair. is that a good price ? sorry for writing a book^ but just trying to get some quality expert advice. Thanks guys

Ok, so, I've been having problems with starting my 98 R33 Gts-t recently. It can vary from turning over and never firing to starting but running very poorly and stalling to working fine seemingly at random. On more than one occasion, by playing with the fuel pump wiring, fuse or plug the car will start and run perfectly, i do not know if this is the actual problem because it seems so intermittent however, i do know that the car will run roughly/stall without the fuel pump plugged in (I swear I didn't forget to connect it, i was "testing"). If anyone has had a problem similar to this and fixed it that would be great to hear but being vague and intermittent I don't hold much hope. The real meat of this post is, if i were to replace the pump is there a nice drop in replacement that doesn't cost and arm and a leg while not being from the Chinese lucky dip bag on ebay? my other thought was to upgrade to a Walbro 255 (GSS340) or a Bosch 040 because eventually my plan is to buy something reliable and diesel (and high off the ground so ramps aren't necessary for everything ) and throw some money into this car so i figured i may as well plan for power as i'm most likely to get a new car within a year. But i have read mixed things about both the bosch and walbro from a general trawl through the forums, is there a clear winner? Also if i do end up going this option, do I have to upgrade the wiring to the pump and what is the best way to go about this, my thoughts are to use the current power wires to trigger a separate fused relay. Anyway, thanks in advanced for any help Joe

So I am making this post as I've searched the forums, and the posts I could find aren't fitting my personal situation. I've already got all the supporting mods for my turbo upgrade, Front facing Plenum, 6boost turbo/ exhaust manifold with T3 fitting, 1000cc injectors, walbro 460 fuel pump, all the gaskets you could dream for, electric boost controller (Already in), Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust, and a front mount intercooler. I've tried making another post elsewhere on these forums reguarding a turbo upgrade, and said post got closed as apparently it's totally fine for people to insult a build, but it's not ok for people to make a new post on a forums, asking for help to suit their situation. My build is unique to 99% of builds on here, I am getting all my modifications engineered and permitted accordingly. I'll be installing all the mods myself, making sure they all apply to the legal standards (Plumbing back to exhaust, emissions) and then I'll be paying an engineer to get it certified. For the turbo upgrade, I am wanting a minimum of 350HP, but I'm looking at around 400- 450HP. The turbo that I require will have to be with a T3 housing (I know garrett give the option for a lot of their turbos to suit multiple fittings). I have no experience with turbos at all, as my skyline is the first performance car I've owned. If someone could give some serious suggestions, someone who knows what they're talking about when it comes to cars, as to what Turbo is good, and what to avoid, that would be amazing. Also, forgot to mention, but I want this turbo for street performance, and a bit of track time, possibly drifting every now and then on track, so I'm not 100%, but I think that would mean I need a responsive turbo with high boost at low RPM? Cheers!

Just wondering if these will need conversion lines brake lines? They're the 2 pot opposed piston calipers, car already has internal ebrake. Doesn't look like the banjo bolts on the current set up want to fit into the z32 rears, just tried to fit them and the banjo bolts are extremely long and don't seem to want to fit nicely. I believe the z32 shares the rears with r33 gtst and r32 GTR. Thanks everyone !
