Hello wondering if someone could tell me if a 38mm external wastegate would be adequate for a 25det running a psr 3076 .82 only looking for around the 300kw mark (or there abouts). My top mount has a 2bolt flange for the wastegate and as far as I can see anything over 38mm is v-band, if possible I’d like to not have to modify the manifold, thanks in advance sorry if this has been asked but I could not find any threads about it.

Hey Anyone using the internal waste gated Borg Warner turbos? Everyone loves a screamer pipe but not legal in NZ and like to keep cops off my back. Do they do the job for 500kw cars? Thanks.

So I went and ordered a 6 boost, gtx3076 and 50mm wastegate. The shop doing my work is asking about the screamer pipe how do most have them ? I don’t think I want it rejoining the exhaust so was thinking just run it out near the gearbox area facing the ground. I’m new to this so any advice welcome. It’s a r34 gtt

Hi Folks Has anyone ever seen anything like this before with boost spiking? Below is 4 small traces from 4 pulls. Run 1 was done with a vacuum line running from the compressor housing to the wastegate. Run 2, 3, and 4 were done running the line through the (Borg Warner) 3 port boost solenoid with it ENTIRELY UNPLUGGED ELECTRICALLY. I can only surmise that the boost solenoid itself acts as a restriction. In run 4 I stayed on the gas longer and you can see it does drop to wastegate pressure. Note: I've had issues similar to this with: a) 4 port boost solenoid (MAC, very old, replaced) b) 3 port boost solenoid (MAC, literally fell apart and returned) c) Borg Warner EFR boost solenoid If something else can cause this, what could it be? The gate was/is a 50MM Progate single. I am assuming the wastegate is fine, as a hose directly from pressure source to wastegate works as expected. I have had (briefly) a MBC which also works as expected sitting in the line in the past. I have replaced all hoses and shortened them to no effect. Is there anything else to check? I'd love to run between 10 and 20psi, but it really looks that if I hook up any boost solenoid I'm going to be dealing with at least a 20psi spike before settling down to whatever boost I specify (that part does in fact work).

Question for those in the know. I have been running through a long electronics upgrade on my track car over the last couple of years. I am finally getting near the end of the tunnel. One thing I am looking at doing as part of all this is re clocking the compressor housing on my car (GT2860RS turbo) I have never been all that happy with proximity of the discharge to the exhaust manifold. The question for me is, is the angle made between the actuator rod and wastegate arm all that critical? I have seen some on quite an angle but to me is it asking for inconsistent operation as the effective mechanical advantage of the actuator changes through it's stroke. I can get it reasonably straight but not quite as straight as it is currently or the discharge is going to hit the strut tower. I am hoping to be able to get it to form more or less a right angle when closed, but am I being unnecessarily fussy? Before anyone gets worried about changing the geometry on anything stock'ish. it is a track only car and will be running closed loop boost control and everything else dealing with boost control will be new so it will all be set up from scratch, one of the things I hope to do is to be able to run a wider range of boost pressures with a two port actuator and three port solenoid (Previously pegged at 18PSI with a basic boost tee as the old ECU was really bad at boost control)

These are brand new in the box purple Tial MVR (44mm) wastegates and Tial Q-valves. These were purchased from Full-Race and are laser etched with their logo. Tial products have pretty much set the standard in the industry, and both of these are the latest offering. The quality is amazing, and they look stunning under the hood in purple. The wastegates offer the unique feature of being able to plumb coolant through them to keep them cool, which will help keep them from scorching as most wastegates do. My intentions were to install both Q-valves, one hot side, one cold side, mostly for aesthetics, but I was told it would have no degrading effect on performance. I would prefer to sell them in pairs or as a few set, but willing to work out other arrangements. Willing to ship at buyers expense, please contact me with any questions. Thank you (x2) Tial MVR wastegates $550 (x2) Tial Q-valaves $400

Hi, Have a few parts leftover from a rebuild/upgrade to my R33 GTS-T. RB25 Factory Camshafts. These came out of my S2 Rb25, they look in really good nick. Don't ask me lift or duration as I have no idea, whatever factory specs are, these are - $200 Stainless Steel High-Mount Manifold and Wastegate. This setup supported over 300kw with a 3076 on it. No cracks, in reasonable condition. Only took off to go 6Boost - $250 I also have an X-Force dump pipe that used to bolt up to the 3076 if interested. Factory Radiator. Looks shitty but worked fine. Upgraded to PWR with integrated coolers - $50 Tomei IN Cam Gear. Bought in error, don't actually need it. Brand new in box - $200 This suits RB20/RB25/RB26 All prices are free postage Aust Wide. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have a few parts I wish to part with. First of all is a Kando T67-25G turbo that had been run on a 25/30 for about 3 months last year and now has been sitting in a box. I also have a Tial 44mm wastegate with screamer with flanges/ flexes to plumb back in. Custom 3 inch dump pipe, modified rb25det stainless steel top mount manifold, some intercooler piping and lastly a r33 lsd diff with 5 stud shafts with brand new rubber bushings. I am asking for $800 for turbo and external wastegate. Or $1000 with manifold and flanges for plumb back and dump pipe. and $200 for diff.

Hi Guys, Just got a quick question here about wastegate sizing and options. To give you a bit of context: Engine: RB20DET Turbo: TD06-20G We had been recommended a 50mm wastegate and opted for a Turbosmart 50mm and after a few delays we finally got the wastegate but they had sent us the 60mm. I'm getting a little bit impatient to get everything into the car to start driving again so was wondering if the 60mm would be fine or if it would be best to sort it out properly and switch it over for the 50mm. Does anyone have any input onto the best choice for wastegate size? Turbosmart on their website states: Big Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate Big Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate Small Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate Small Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate But doesn't neccesarily translate over to precise measurements. Cheers!

Hi everyone. So my r34 gtt has had a gt3076 56trim with a .63 internal housing for some time now. I never can flog it due to the horrible boost creep. not to mention the kinda shit power from that turbo at that psi. So to fix the issue i got a .82 housing with a ported 37mm internal gate. Drove it today and it still creeps to about 1.3bar. but holds there where before it would keep going until it started to lean out (fart, crack ect.) this turbo is from gcg and the housing, i use a apexi avc-r controller, standard manifold (mild port), split dump from gcg, 3inch front pipe (i Think) to apexi hi silent back exhaust, no cat. So basically can someone explain or possibly rectify this issue (which seems to be common). if they are selling these things for rb25 they must have some form of boost control. I'm to far gone for a external gate as it defeats my original intention. thanks
