?

For bodykits, don't Trojan do them?

Alternatively, someone like New Gel I guess, though a lot of people don't like them

FMIC = order a kit from Just Jap and do it yourself

Respray = A friend's S13 has just had a full respray at Supreme smarh repairs in Fyshwick, and it looks great

Don't take your car to Evo, they will overcharge and underwork.

I agree with that but:

There is a bloke by the name of Ben who works in the same premisis as Evo. His business is called Intune. He does not work for Evo.

If your after someone who knows their stuff and does it all for a good price go in there and ask specificly for Ben.

Good prices yes... knows his stuff i guess he has done good work for Nath as for mine i am yet to make my mind up...

Ok, if Ben is ok thats great, let not forget I was ripped off by Evo to the tune of $4000.... plus my car was drifted.

I'll never ever back off bagging that place after what they did to my car, and if I even see that salesman crossing the road I won't break.

But, if Ben knows his stuff and can charge his own prices just working from the building, thats cool. If he is involved with Evo though, I'm sorry but that workshop burnt me too hard.

Ben wired the engine conversions on both mine and R31DET's cars, the quality of work was pretty good.

I have taken my car back to him since and have no problem with him working on it, but I really don't like the idea of taking a car to Evo even if it isn't one of their staff working on it.

Yeah, sorry but I feel the same way, after the way I was lied to by that shop I couldn't take my car there. After I rang Chris to talk about the "work" they had done, I was treatly rudly and it took me turning up at EVO (with some mates) to even get the parts I paid for. I was truley ripped off in every sense, and I'd hate for any of you guys to feel the way I did.

Nothing worse han saving forever then finding out you blew it all (plus some). 12 months on I'm still re-saving that money.

no offence to Ben, but that workshop reamed me.

Yeah i personally dont like the guys that run the actual EVO car sales part, they're a bunch of rude pricks in my oppinion. Was in there chatting to Ben one day, car parked pretty much out of the way.. Instead of some EVO wang asking me nicely to move my car out of the way i was greeted with a "f**kin move your car now, your not an EVO customer so f**kin move it". When i moved my car, i saw where my car was parked was not even interfering with their movements...

I think the EVO guy is pissed because they've ruined their reputation and Ben gets all the work because people trust him with their cars.

Rant over.

Evo f**ked me over too... not quite $4000, but held my car ransom (looooong story as to why it ended up at evo) and went back on everything they said. The sad part is, Ben also tuned my car when he was with Evo (back in mid 2003)... I cant really say anything except I was utterly disgusted with the end result.

HOWEVER I have talked to friends of Bens who told me while he was with Evo, they pushed him to just get the car in, make a pretty power figure and get the car out... dont actually spend any real time on it. Since he does his own thing now, he takes alot more time with the cars setting them up properly and I have not heard a bad thing since.

Either way with regards to tuning my car wont go to anyone but Ed... How can I argue with someone that has the most power fc and motec experience in Canberra, has access to a dyno dynamics certified shootout dyno, has both the genuine Apexi software and the Datalogit software, and hasnt made a car go bang yet?

Just my $0.02...

Steve,

If the car you are referring too was sold in its last incarnation painted red, when it left Eds it was running well in excess of 200kw... its a shame the owner couldnt stop playing with it and screwing it up every time.

*****Update******

Also, the the RevFest I rang the Dyno comp, a R32 GTR in metalflake blue (bad respray) turned up fresh from its dyno tune at Evo. They said it was making 280rwkws, and he wanted to back it up here.

We have a Dyno Dynamics Dyno that was in shootout mode. Out of 3 runs it made a best of 240ish HORSEPOWER at the wheels. I've never seen anyone just look so sad, it was what I looked like when they did that to me. the guy just kinda left - and I havn't run into him to see what happend - but he paid quiet a bit of money from what he was saying.

Just another 2c......

    • That M3 looks like it handles so well, initial slight understeer on turn in followed by oversteer which is cancelled out as steering returns to centre. Looks like such a fun car to drive. In comparison the Skyline and Sierra look like they understeer more and thus need more heavier steering inputs...?
    • Gday   on the hunt for an rb25 gearbox and clutch to go into my R32 rb25/30 build happy to travel a bit or pay for freight for the right one From my limited research, think I need an rb25 driveshaft yoke to make it fit so I’m after one of those too located Bathurst

    • Google says for a 1998 Nissan Maxima to pull/pry, and the metal pin might even come out with it. I'd do a bit more googling, there was a few videos, find some where the shafts/needles appear most similar and compare the techniques.
    • Details: Turbo Borg Warner EFR 9180 with 1.05 rear housing Upgraded TurboSmart integrated BOV Sanded and powdercoated compressor cover in gloss black Elbow welded with wiggins clamp Speed Sensor(Not included) (Can include oil drain(heat wrapped + titanium intake pipe with almost new filter for a tad extra). Manifold: 6 Boost RB26/30 twin scroll manifold  e-MAP ports drilled into both scrolls(I was using the TAARKS EMAP KIT) Turbo is in excellent condition. Always used Penrite 15w50 Racing oil(Changed less then 2000ks). Also using the Turbosmart OP regulator and filter. Downpipe: 4inch Stainless steel with VBand inlet and outlet clamps(included) Heat wrapped Dual ports for Dyno/Wideband usage Will throw in free 2.5 inch intercooler pipe(2.5inch From turbo outlet to 3.5 inch intercooler) - Powder coated black. Turbo made 563rwkw on mainline hub dyno at around 24-25psi boost - Pump fuel. Will def make over 600kw on e85. Didn't bother as my e-MAP was through the roof with my setup sitting past the choke line. I have a cnc ported and fully built head on my 3.2. Turbine speed saw max of around 109k rpm. I'm running this on my R32 GTR, with AC, and the original power steering pump. The manifold clears the AC lines, ABS, and everything else. Although I had new AC lines because I just wanted new ones and I heat wrapped them as well. This will make more power on a slightly lower capacity motor with a higher PR. And I have since upgraded to a G45-1500. Have pics and videos if need be.  Absolutely nothing wrong with setup. Turbo is in perfect condition. No shaft play or oil leaks at all. All the work was professionally done. The transient response of this is fkn amazing. I cannot rave more about this turbo. If I wasn't chasing 4 figures, I would have kept it. $5000 NZ.
