A man in his 40's bought a new Skyline R34 GTR and was out on the Freeway

for a nice evening drive. The sunroof was open, the breeze was blowing

through what was left of his hair, and he decided to open her up. As the

needle jumped up to 130kph, he suddenly saw flashing red and blue lights

behind him. There's no way they can catch a GTR," he thought to himself

and opened her up further. The needle hit 170 then 200kph.... then the

reality of the situation hit him.

"What the hell am I doing?" he thought and pulled over.

The cop came up to him, took his license without a word, and

examined it and the car. "It's been a long day, this is the end of my

shift, and it's Friday the 13th. I don't feel like more paperwork, so if you can give me an excuse that I haven't heard before for your driving, you can go."

The guy thought for a second and said, "Last week my wife ran off with a cop. I was afraid you were trying to give her back."

"Have a nice weekend," said the officer.

Seemed to fit the mood i think

I can see where Merli is coming from guys. I've had the 'line for over 3 years and I'm yet to be pulled over for no reason. I've got mods that are very vissible, it's a daily driver, low, loud, the usuall deal. BUT.. when I'm on the street I will not do anything stupid. I've been in 3 near death accidents because of moron friends who think they know what they're doing.

I also agree that I choose to have my car modded without it being engineered, so if I do get busted it's not the officers fault that my car does not comply with Australian rules/laws.

Harrasement is a different thing and I don't agree with it, but being booked for something that you know is wrong doesn't make it unfair. Just like you and me the copper doesn't write the laws, they enforce it.

Hate to think what society would be like without them.

A cop will never pull u over for no reason, they always havea reason othewise they would have kept drving. Am i wrong?

NO offense but id fairly say that ive heard ppl like 007 many times whinging and moaning about how they get a hard time from the cops for doing nothing. Let me be the first to submit that u are doing something wrong and thats y u got busted. The thing that is prolly pissing the cops off the most is the attitude u give em when u get out of the car(if u get out of the car at all, cops hate having to walk up to the window and u have instanly lost their respect). If its anything like the above arguments then no wonder they harras u.

We appoint cops to be our masters, make no mistake the cop owns the road, u have no right on the road unless the cops sez u do, u are not an equal u are a lesser. If u have to get down on ure hands and kness and suck away who gives a dam (exaggeration of course) yes sir, no sir, 3 bags full sir. Do u really give a dam if a cop thinks less of u? do u need to challenge him? does he make more money than u?(prolly not) is he smarter? does he deserve ure respect?

A cop is not a person he is a cop, he might be the biggest ahole in the world but regardless he is still a cop and he is above u when u are in his territory PUBLIC ROADS.

end rant/

Sorry just drives me nuts when ppl complain about cops. If u have a problem stop drving on public roads

I've been followed home once by a cop car.. and I was doing nothing other than driving home in peak hour. They seemed actually surprised that the address on my license was in fact where I had pulled up. Was doing _absolutely_ nothing wrong even though they gave me the full checks. This wasn't an import at the time, and I don't speed or do anything in my area or am I at all "known" to the police. Cops get bored too you know :)

Hmmm, if i was a cop, and somebody was getting out of the car then I would be thinking the guy was about to do something stupid or hark up and be an idiot. Not sure about that one...

Police, and the laws are different in each state. Its a bit pointless to be arguing this and that because it does vary.

When I first got my license & drove around in a bomb (stupid & naive - very unroadworthy) I used to get pulled over all the time. In one night (the first week I got my license) I got pulled over twice for 1) speeding & unroadworthy car - and 2) reckless driving (U turn) & unroadworthy car. I was lucky enough to get off on both counts with a warning - and at the time they scared the $hit outta me, and I think that that had changed my attitude on the roads. Due to the appearance of the cars I used to drive, I used get pulled over a lot (because they looked like crap :bahaha: ), but since I've had my 32 (a year now) I haven't been pulled up once.

I agree that the cops should focus on the old beat up heaps of crap, because they're the one's that are more likely to cause accidents or death - but aside from other people's horror stories, I haven't seen first hand any incidents where I feel liked I've been picked on - not where I didn't have it coming anyway.

Just My Thoughts

In my experience the best cops are the older ones. They have been around a while and know what they are doing. The kinda cops who in the old days if ya drank too much would have taken you home for your olds to sort out, not locked you up.

Gotta agree here. My Dad's told countless stories of the trouble he and his mates used to get into when they were young. He's kiwi and from a small town in the north island. When Basil, the local cop, knew they were all drinking down the local, he would go in and take everyone's car keys and tell them to come down the station in the morning to get them back.

Granted this was a small time town in the 60s, but that actually shows an interest in reducing the road toll, rather than just profiteering from motorist. Oh how the times have changed.

The other day I was commin home after a surf in my old man's VL, its his work car, nothing special. Got pulled over for an RBT, the cop walked round the car. I'm thinkin hes gonna defect it, all he did was make sure the plates were readable and my brake lights and indicators worked then sent me on my way.

There are good cops out there, and there are absolute wankers as well. No matter who you get, you're usually better off showing respect for the cop rather than acting like some pissed off smart arse kid, the outcome will usually be better.

Of course you should get out of your car!!!!

A cop (because of their position) is already in a position of authority. Which means that they have something over you. When a cop pulls you over, and u don't get out, they r talking down to you, putting them in an even higher position of authority.

The BEST thing you can do is get out of the car. It automatically puts you both on equal footing. You definately don't let your passenger out - they might start shooting at you. but you have to get out of the car

i don't know about you guys, but a copper is not better than me. we are both ppl. No better, no worse. and by driving on a public rd does not mean that i'm in his territory. he is just supervising us. doesn't matter what job u do, supervisors can b wrong. you prove to the cop that you are aware of your rights, that you will not be pushed over, but have as much respect for him as you would anyone else, and chances are you will come out alright.

when i get done, provided the cop is not a prick about it, i won't dispute it. but when they think they are better, and can pin me for whatever they want, then i will get my back up.

all in all, my view hasn't changed, some cops are pricks, most r ok. but in general, it's the laws that are ****ed, not the enforcers. know ur rules, u won't get tramped on.

Cheers mate... or should I say "Cor Blimey" :)

I think that while it's all well and good to know that you're better than the cop, and that you earn more in a week than he does in a year, you should keep that knowledge to yourself.

Treat the cop like crap, give him attitude, and disrespect him, and he'll make your night HELL. And you know what? There's nothing you can do about it. He can keep you there as long as he wants, and if you get too stroppy with him, he'll call for backup and take you into the station.

It's a much better option to keep that "superiority attitude" to yourself, as it can only cause you harm, not good.

Police Officers don't like to have it pointed out to them that they're not kings of the world. Let them believe that for the 10 minutes it'll take for you to talk to them... It's no sweat off your back, but might save you a LOT of hassles down the track.

This is true. But what would you rather:

You kiss ass for 10-15 minutes and have a decent chance of getting off whatever they pulled you over for, or

You be a fcuking hero for 10-15 minutes of your life and be a big man and talk down to the officers who you most likely will never see again, and almost certainly get whacked in the face with a big defect or speeding fine for your troubles?

I know which one I'd rather choose.

well i took option 1 but he still got me cause he couldnt get me for doing anything else wrong, even tho what he got me for was crap, which i can prove to him, but that would just waste precious seconds of my life which i wouldnt waste on tryin to prove anything to an ignorant, pigheaded, biggot, racist pig!

Ahh isnt this an aussie forum??? too many movies 4 u m8 :D

Well my dad was a cop and i know alot of his cop friends and i deal with cops at work seeing as we are a govt liason. So i might say i know how to talk to em.

Ok i reckon id be safe to say that none of u guys are secret agents and can lie perfectly and change ure mannerisims to suit the situation. Cops know when u dont liek em not becasue of what u say but how u say it, u might be trying to be friendly but deep down saying "bloody bastards" they can tell even the newest road cop has pulled over a 1000 od ppl in exactly this situation and he knows ppl, thats his job.

007 so u get out of ure car stand tall and start crapping on about "ure rights" no wonder u keep getting done. True respect is what its all about, dont respect the badge, respect the man becasue he has the badge. Same thing as standing up on the bus to let an older person sit, its just respect where respect is due.

Ever read a serial killer book? 9 times out of 10 when a cop speaks to the killer he knows right away, even if its in passing and the cop never suspected him at all. Cops are not paid to drive around being tools and handing out yellows, they are paid and trained to deal with ppl first and foremost and ppl who dont show repect get treated accordingly.

pfffffffffftttttt now that is the biggest load of shit i have ever heard of in my life!!!

its a fact that they have a quota to fill every time they r on duty, and dont know where u r from but here in vic all the cops care about is revenue raising, not about dealing with people and all that crap u said!

Would u like to explain to me y i got done then, and i got the facts to prove to the cop that got me he was full of shit and basically pulled me over and booked me for nuttin??

how can cops expect respect from people they screw over for nuttin.

Merli - perhaps you miss read my post, I didn't ever say I was better than the cop, only that they are not better than me....

"No better, no worse".

However, just cause he has a badge doesn't mean that he is better, and my view is, if we play along with their thinking that it is, life for us "street racers" will only get worse.

I DO treat coppers with respect. Anyone that has to clean up the mess when some dickhead 17 yr old on their p's decides strap a silvia into a pole, deserves respect. It would have to be a f#cker of a job, and despite the pay, I still doubt I would do it.

But respect comes in many forms other than getting on your knees and taking one for the team! I am not bending over for a copper cause he or she has a badge. I am polite, and illustrate to them that I understand my rights., and ensure that they know that I will not be walked on.

Yeh it may be different over here in WA seeing as we get the whole small town atmosphere. I asked my dad about that quota thing and he sez its total bs, not sure about over there and now but when he was a cop 15-20 odd years ago there was nothing of the sort. If anything he gave out too many tickets becasue of ppl giving him hassle. Hey if i was a cop id do the same thing. He tells me a story of how he used to go for a cain in the ol XD and if it looked like he was gonna have an accident the guy in the side seat would pic up the mic and say "tango whisky sierra 2 1 , in pursuit" that way if they did hit something they could prove they werent just caining around for fun. And u wonder y they took most of the V8s off the cop :P

007 i dont think u are ever gonna get my point or merlis for that matter. Cops are better than u!!!! u can tell em about ure rights all day but i betcha they will nail u for something. Its all about power they have the power u do not dont question it. How would u like if a 10yr old kid came in to ure work and started telling u that u were doing it wrong and he knows better etc etc even if he was being poilte ud pick him up and throw him out correct? i know i would. Who the hell is he to be telling u how to do ure job?

Oh yeh and learn the "jedi mind trick" cant remember the author but its called "world fastest hypnotisim" or something like that and it basically tells u how to screw with pppls mind without them noticing it. Also help is u do a psych course or 2 ;)

    • It can't be some stupidly proprietary video signal coming out of it that only Nissan's can understand. Surely you can just find some generic camera to stuff in there and use hot melt glue/blu-tac/gaffer tape to hold it in place if need be?
    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.

For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
