Timing Chain Removal

How do i remove the timing chain from the head on my l20et? I remember needing something to hold up the chain when the head is off from the block. Photos appreciated

you need a wooden block to jam between the chain guide and the other side of the chain....i cant remember the dimensions off the top of my head, but im sure i could find it again if you need me to.

just make sure you put a hole in the top of it and thread some wire thru, so you can pull the bloody thing out.....found that out the hard way.

yes please find me the diamensions, i shall be making it tomorrow. how do i take the chain off? just undo the cam gear and ease it off with that with graet difficulty?

A handle of a big-handled screwdriver (about 1" diameter) is perfect for the job. That will lock the timing chain in position, then you can remove the cam bolt and cam wheel.

Bluepoint make a nice plastic tool for the job if you have access to a Snap On dealer . Wooden block workes fine .
