I have noticed that one of my belt is misaligned. As you can see on the pics, the belt has 3 teeths, and one of them is outside.

is that the a/c belt?

Could someone tell me how i can put it back correctly? which part should i loosen up, so i could put the belt properly?

That's the Power Steering pump. Couple of ways to solve the problem.

1. Get a 27 mm socket on the crank pulley. Manually turn the engine over while you press sideways on the belt to guide it back into correct alignment. You will probably need 2 people - 1 down below to turn the crank, the other up top to push on the belt.

2. Loosen off the tensioner of the steering pump. It's on the underside of the pump, so it's often easiest if you remove the IC pipe (the one with, is that the BOV?, in your last pic). You may still need to rotate the pump's pulley, pushing the belt sideways (as in 1 above) to guide the belt back into correct alignment.

Hope that makes sense.

thanks for the reply,

i dont know if #1 will work, as the belt is really tight, i dont think we can push the belt on without tearing the belt apart.

as for #2, seem to be a bit more difficult, (yes the silver pipe has the bov on the right) . I will check this out

For #2, the adjustment mechanism is similar to the one for the alternator. It will be more apparent once you remove the IC pipe. I certainly found it far easier to adjust the belt tensioner this way.

hey bobyYoo,

on a totally unrelated topic i noticed in the pics that u have your BOV welded onto the crossover pipe. i had this done aswell when i first got my BOV. then i got my cooler and had to move it to where the stock one was. There was a massive improvement in the sound. but unless your getting a cooler then you'll need something to block up a bloody big hole.

Personally I'd just get all your belts replaced. I had the same thing happen. It only costs like $150 in parts and labour if you go to nissan.

What he said. The belt is more than likely ripped up from hanging off like that. If you put it on it could snap or sqeak around
