Bleed Valves Are S**t

Hows it goin everyone. I got my GFB turbo bleed valve installed a couple of days ago, and as all you guys from melbourne would know it was around 40 degrees. I set it to 10psi and everything was fine, it was holding on 10psi up until redline.

Come yesterday when melbournes temprature droped quite a bit (dunno how much but i had a jumper on yesterday?) I got in the car to drive to a mates and when i stepped on it it spiked to about 13 or 14psi. This kind of pissed me off because what I think it means is that each time the whether changes I will need to pop my bonnet and adjust the boost

Does this happen to just me? So ill advise all you guys who wanna boost your cars, dont go cheap like i did and just get an electronic boost controller from the start! lol

GFB Bleed Valves aren't known to be the best and defintely spike decent amounts....

If you got a decent one (ie the cheap one we talk about on here), you wouldn't have those sorta issues.

Also, it's always best to set your boost level on a cold night... of course you're going to run a decent whack more boost on a cold night compared to the 40 degree day

haha whats the point on whacking a bleed valve and not adjusting it? of course it's not going to spike!

i have mine installed and just on standard boost it has never missed a beat.

the boost will always change,considering the weather conditions.it doesnt matter what boost controller you have, the car will always be much more likely to hit a higher boost on a very cold day in comparison to a hot day were the boost will not be as likley to spike.

unless you have an electronic boost controller which can adjust the bleed on the fly and always maintains a steady boost level.

i agree, the "ones for sale on here" lol is awsome, holds boost exactly where i set and just works great. best cheap upgrade i ever spent $30 on lol

The best option if you desire to run under a bar would be an adjustable HKS wastegate actuator. You will never look back.

I got a GFB Bleed Valve and Set it to 8 PSI due to my car being stock and the boost solinoid broken, mine has not spiked and holds pressure perfectly all the time. I know they GFB Bleed Valves are good when you get a good one and crap when you get a bad one, due to friends buying one after I did (dont you hate being the guinea pig).

My GFB tends to hold boost at 14psi regardless of temperature. However it spikes when u floor it at high RPM which I dont like.
