Hi fellas...just installed a fmic piping kit from on of the sponsors here onto my r32 gtst...it fits fine except for the crossover pipe from under the battery that passes over the fan and cas...when the bonnet is closed the pipe is pushed down and it hits the fan...has anyone encountered this with their fmic piping installs and how have you countered this? at the moment...i have gone backyard mechanic style on the car and trimmed the fan blades...problem is that now the fan makes a sh!tload of noise and doesn't disengage even after driving for awhile...any help would be appreciated...cheers...

you need to cut the pipe a bit that leads to the engine, or thats what i did on mine and ive had no problems. When i got the intercooler kit i was told to do this cause the kit was for a r33, but with the little mod would fit a r32.

I bought a GREDDY FMIC kit for my R32 just a few weeks ago. i didnt need to cut the fan at all. i think with the hybrids for example it actually tells u in the install instructions to cut the fan to fit the pipe.Though my bonnett has slightly flattened about 10cm of the top of the pipe. barely noticeable but that might be the solution. u need a different crossover pipe that sits higher in the engine bay rather than lower. otherwise get used to the noise.
