i guess youll like my sig then...? good 'ol Vincent Valentine, only problem is i dunno what the gameplay is gonna be like... i hope its gonna be something like DMC3, thatd be hektik. only problem is, there already working on a DoC2, i really hope they dont kill the FFVII franchise...

KHII is gonna be the sheezy, theyve got so many FF characters in there:

Cloud, Sephiroth (again, as an extra boss, but has more to do with cloud this time), Aerith, Tifa, Cid, Yuffie, Yuna Rikku and Paine (as fairies), Leon, that little magician from FFIX, some more characters from FFV and VI

im kinda dissapointed Red-XIII, Vincent or Cat sith arent in there... but ohwell KHII is gonna rock my socks.

you actually have to fight against Yuffie, Leon Cloud and tifa by yourself in the 49th hades cup match... with no donald or goofy get prepared for that!

Mickey is also playable in some parts.

Cant Wait for this dam game...

Not really playing any RPG's at the moment, the only ones i really enjoy are made by square and i dont know if any have recently come out...

but if you could recommend a sick Japanese RPG thats decent preferrably with summons or something along those lines thatd be cool ^_^

also, does anyone have a FFVII that they no longer want anymore? i REALLY dont want to buy off ebay, so if anyone has a copy itd be very much appreciated.

Good news it plays very similar to DMC, well ive only played the 1st 2 for about 1/2 an hour a piece. U get 3 guns to toggle through and u can upgrade them as u go on. I played it for about an hour, really didnt wanna stop but cos i cant understand Japanese theres no point.

With Kingdom Hearts (the 1st) does it get more advanced later on? Im all about sidequests!! I only played untill a... dang i cant remember it was in a town at night not far into it, pretty sure Donal and Goofy where with me and i had to fight a boss/ Spewing i didnt though, do u know if the sequel is a direct sequel? U reckon ill have to play the 1st so i can enjoy the story more?

With recommending a sik RPG, its hard theres so many good ones out and coming out. Im playing and in love with Dragon Quest 8 atm and its awesome!! If u want something with a manga flavour Tales of Legendia has alot of manga/anime cutscenes and is visually gorgeous!!

Ive got FF7(pretty sure its NTSC USA) somewhere on PS1 i can copy it for ya if u like just soot me a PM and gimme a lil cos imoutta blank cds and dunno where i put it :P

you might want to complete KH1, its not very hard, but it will DEFINETLY help with kh2. in some town at night with donald and goofy... hmmm well traverse town is the one you start of in and the only boss you fight is "armour" and "reverse armour", ummm im thinking you where in Halloween town about to fight Oogie Boogie, hes an easy boss. well really theyre all relatively easy.

but anyway it will definetly give you a heads up in Sora's story. KH2 is 1 year after KH1, and inbetween kh1 and 2 there was a game released on GBA called Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, this game was pretty poo as the fighting was card based, the only thing it was good for was introducing the new characters.

Nomura made KH2 so that new people can just jump on and play it with no trouble, your introduced a new character Roxas who has a certain connection to Sora.

in KH2 you also get drive forms, you use forms when you FUSE with either donal goofy or both.

Wisdom Form = Sora+Donald

sora's costume changes to blue, and his magic increases in strength as he fights, gives you more of a variety of magic and you can also use magic inbetween combos.

Valor Form = Sora+Goofy

Sora's costume changes to red, and he is FINALLY able to weild TWO (thats right, TWO) keyblades!!! his strangth is greatyly increased, and the combos are increased.

Master Form = Sora+Donald+Goofy

Sora's costume changes to Yellow, his magic is increased, he is also able to wield 2 keyblades.

Final Form = Sora+Donald+Goofy

Sora's Costume changes to Silver, this form is alot like Master, except sora's strength is increased and he manipulates thekeyblades with his mind, so he doesnt actually use his hands, the keyblades just float around him.

Anti Form = Sora+anyone

All of sora turns completely black with a smokey residue, his eyes glow yellow and instead of a keyblade he gets claws. this form is basically a heartless sora, which is acheived when you "form" too much. pretty much his speed dramaticly increases his strength decreases, he is also able to jump massive lengths at a time, not advised to use when in a boss fight.

you can find out more about the drive forms here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_2#Drive_Forms

These Drive Forms are a big plus in kh2, instead of having crappy Trinitys you now get forms.

this game is alot darker and more mature than kh1. there is also a new enemy, Organization XIII which consists of 13 members who all have different and unique abilities, but i dunno what there purpouse is yet, i dont wanna spoil it for me too much

if you want you can go to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts

and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Heart...ain_of_Memories

if you dont wanna complete kh1 and CoM, theyll just tell you what happened. when you see the name xehanort, just think of ansem.

i hope ive still got my chipped ps1 for FFVII 0.0

also, dragon quest, thats made by square, maybe i should give that a go... do you get specialmonsters or anything in it?

my first RPG ever was legend of dragoon and that was the bomb cause you basically formed into a dragon/human thing. so im sorta used to have summons etc... sept that dam FFX-2 that couldve been better

Thanks for the info SKY, gonna read up hopefully i get time to play KH2, theres just too many good RPG's out and on theyre way.

Dragon Quest 8 is awesome, im about 70% through it and ive nudged over 110 hours on it, oh and my characters are only on level 38!!!! Game is HUGE!!!

Yes theres special monsters, u kill them then later on u make a monster fighting team for te monster arena, one of the many sidequests!!!

Just finished playing Final fantasy 12 WOW What can i say

This game is UNREAL!

Very hard to tell whats going on cos i dont know a thing JAP.

I had to get this, not to be one of the 1st's to play it but i just cant wait another 6 months

But heres what ive found so far after playing for just over an hour:

-No Subtitles (Duh!)

-Heaps of Maps

-In game text can be re-read

-Load times are pretty bad(but graphics are just amazing), seems to get a lil better as they cut scenes died down(But my PS2 laser aint in the best condition).

-The 'Vagrant Story' style fighting is fine, its basically like the old one I think they included this so more than the usual 3 or 4 players can join in also(U will understand when u play). Shame on ALL of you who doubted square, seriously what where u thinking?

-The story looks like its gonna be awesome as usual, but i slowly thought the series died down after 8, nine was ok, ten i think i only played all the way through cos it was a FF and i havent even bothered to play X-2(not even seen the intro), and havent played 11 cos im not into and have never played online RPG's, maybe when my PC can handle it ill give it a go.

-The 1st town is HUGE!!!

-Looks like it may be mission based

-Doesnt look like the free-roaming world map is back

This game seems highly polished from what ive seen and theyve added a whole bunch of new stuff.

1 thing that has me stumped is the size of the game, its only 4gig flat, seems very small to me i thought they would have put this onto a DVD9 or 2 DVD's,(or at minimum a DVD full to the brim) i hope its not short!!!

lol i didnt know FFXII was out yet... didnt it come out a couple of days ago?

is the story line ok??

i thought FFX story line was just great. FFX-2, story line was sick, no summons or decent fighting gave it a crap rating from me

apparently FFXII characters are alot like FFX?

if you could elaborate on the FFXII story thatd be cool ^_^

i dont really get psyched over FF's unless i hear something good about them... ever since FFX-2... T.T

Ive completed FF6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

8 was cool 9 and 10 started getting shiyte,6 and 7 being my favs and i reckon once i get this in English this will be at the top!!

Cant really tell whats going on as i cant understand any JAP, still figuring out all the leveling system and buying system and so on.

But it seems like the story is PHUKN AWESOME, so are the characters, dang the whole games just killer, this sh!ts all over FF10!

Found a site with the FMV videos of FFXII and theres also 2 in there of KH2 so i thought id post it up for ya SKYLVIA:

http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user...wnpaablo&page=2

SKY: what other FF's have u played? And what other RPG's on the PS2/PS1?

Also have u seen the Official Kingdom Hearts 2 Site??

Ive been checking it out, damn looks good, think ill be playing part one 100%.

I checked out the 1st's site and realised i stopped playing in Traverse Town.

Looks like Auron (FFX) is in it also.

yeah i might go to youtube and look at some vids... i dont really mind spoiling myself for FFXII

youtube also has all kh2 clips along with pretty much everything except pornography...

a friend in USA has recieved KH2 Eng. Ver. early... so hes chucked up a few vids :)

i dont find the websites that great honestly... its pretty much VERY stock info

you fight against Hades and also Cerberus with Auron inwhich you can do a special dual attack with... looks pretty cool ^_^

only FF's ive played are FFIX, FFX and X-2... i didnt play much of IX, the clips were pretty, the story line didnt grab me though...

i absoloutly loved FFX's story line, the clips were marvolous and very colourful, the characters were great, summons were awesome. all in all id give it a 10/10. i didnt complete it though... i got up to the bit before yuna is forced to marry seymore... vs'ing the dragon on the airship... god that thing was a bitch... i might go watch the clips after that...

FFX-2 was sorta crap... they took out summons :) it was nice to see some familiar destinations and see how people have moved on like wakka being with lulu... paine was an interesting character but i dont remember there being much depth into her history... the clips in this were also great... the concerts were suprisingly awesome. the gameplay was sorta poo... thats what didnt grab me... the story line continuation was great though. i give it a 7.9 i also didnt complete this game

and as FFVII wont be re-made i might just have to get the PS version of it

ok, a game that absoloutly PWND on PS would have to be legend of dragoon, that game was the first and one of the best story-lined RPG's ive EVER played... this game was mentioned to rival Square-Soft's (back then) Final Fantasy series, these CG scene's were absoloutly great... i recommend this a MUST for any RPG player. 10/10

Ah so your still a lil fresh to RPG's :)

Theres a whole bunch i could recommend to play, but with KH2 out in a week theres no point in starting anything yet.

Started to play Legend of Dragoon a lil back in the day, but im sure there was some other RPG that took my attention away from it(even had the official guide), didnt think it was that good, pity i didnt play it through, now theres too many more games out or coming out that are aboe that on the list to play.

    • Right.  I'll try my best at a concise "bring you up to speed" on stuff that may be missing here - obviously open to questions or further input from others as relevant. Here's a datalog from a responsive turbo setup with electronic boost control being used a bit, to keep it simple I've marked 3 points of interest.  All of these charts are on the same time scale on the X-axis, so you can reference what engine rpm is doing in the top graph, boost and EMAP (exhaust backpressure) in the second graph, and turbo rpm in the bottom graph. A) The turbo gets it's power from exhaust gas, and pumping air takes work.  As a result you can't just spin a turbo with a fixed amount of exhaust energy and expect it to keep spooling - the bigger the turbo (ie, the more air it can push) the more exhaust energy you need to drive it.   The most obvious ways of getting more exhaust energy are by adding displacement, adding boost, or adding rpm - but as you add any of these the turbo also needs to do a bit more work so there is a big balance of these things needed to even get to your target boost and sometimes that's not even possible. What you can see in step "A" is that there isn't enough engine rpm or boost to reach the level we want, so this is where "lag" is.  The dyno run continues and rpm increases, which gives enough energy to increase boost, which helps spool  the turbine speed up even more - so you can see that the rate that the boost (and turbo speed) are starting to ramp up faster than the engine rpm is, so turbo is really starting to wake up as the graph gets closer to point B....   B) At this point we've been able to reach the boost that is actually desired at this point.   To stop the boost from going further than this the wastegate will open and bypass gas past the turbine, meaning it doesn't continue accelerating at the point it was before but instead carry on at a more progressive rate which matches what the engine needs.   The wastegate will have a spring in it which is rated to a specific pressure where it will start bypassing, but electronic boost control (managed by the ECU) can adjust how much pressure the spring sees in order to allow some tunability on how much boost the wastegate actually sees, and therefore how much exhaust it bypasses.   The tune in this case stops boost from ramping up HARD at around 21-22psi just before 4000rpm, then as the rpm continue it allows boost to continue up to around 25psi higher in the rpm.   You can see the turbo speed fairly steadily increases through the rpm to ensure it's keeping up with the increasing airflow demand due to the engine speed being higher and boost being pretty steady.   If the boost dropped off after a point then you may see the turbo speed level off or even drop.   C) You can see that despite the boost pressure staying pretty flat here, the exhaust pressure is steadily increasing and at this stage has overtaken boost pressure.   This isn't unusual, and is largely as a result of the increasing energy needed by the turbo to pump more and more air to suit the needs of the engine as it revs out further.   There are a bunch of variables in regards to how much back pressure there will be on a given turbo etc, but its one of the factors we manage when sizing and tuning a turbo setup.   When exhaust back pressure starts exceeding boost pressure you will eventually start seeing signs that the turbo is running out, the engine gets less keen to make more power and it gets harder to raise boost further. In this case it's a fairly acceptable compromise for the power level (around 630kw on a 3litre engine with full boost by 4000rpm), but you'd not want to push it a lot harder than this.  The maximum speed rated for the compressor wheel on this setup is around 125,000rpm so you can see its starting to get close on that side as well - I feel like this kind of illustrates some of the turbo related things we both decide on how far to push, and are also limited to how far we can push depending on the parts combination. Hope this helps more than it confuses things
    • For that influx of Spammers we had I made no pic posting and no PM's for first ten posts. This is group based and I've manually updated @Beanie to the Members group which will open up the images and PM's.
    • Thx for the reassuring reply. I’ve got above legal clearance  going in for roadworthy Friday… fingers crossed it’s keeping me awake  bloody nanny state
    • I was actually going to try and dig out a datalog with turbine speed and EMAP haha
    • Wait until @Lithium posts a compressor map and tries to explain what's going on. There is a strong possibility that the OP lives in a digital world and is not comfortable with analogue machines. A turbo is just about as analogue as it gets, with plenty of non-linear behaviours added in on top. Most of us who think we know how they work are actually only getting by on 2nd and 3rd order mental models that abstract away from the actual physics and bring it back to the sort of kindergarten level concepts we can hold in our heads. This is important when you need to hold 10 such concepts in your head at the same time. You need to reduce the complexity of the individual concepts to allow them to be simultaneously held and manipulated. Too much complexity in the base models makes it very difficult to make them work with each other mentally.
