gday guys and gals.

my front left makes a ticking noise to which i initially put it to a screw in the tyre. tested this theory by putting my stockie back on and the noise dissapeared. drove around with the screw for a while and just got around to removing it the other day. problem is i still have that ticking noise on rough roads and whenver i turn right. im now suspecting it could be the wheel bearing. does anyone know how to test it to see if its stuffed?? or could it be something else

cheers.

Jack the car up, spin the wheel and listen for the noise.

Then remove the wheel and check the hub for up/down play.

Mine made more of a rubbing noise when it was shot (as water had gotten in past the seal). It had no play though.

You can get a new bearing from nissan for not much at all. You will need to get the old one pressed out and the new one installed. I can't give you a definate price as i removed the hub myself and had a mate press the bearing out and install the new one for nothing then reinstalled the hub myself.
