as a matter of fact, R32s have become a new generation of posing cars coz somehow everyone thinks a R32 goes faster than a R33. and thats y they are so popular nowadays.

Skylines in general can serve as posing cars. I mean, there are people who don't want performance at all, there are a few non turbo models with very nice bodykits, rims, interiors etc.

For some reason, Skylines at the moment have more "street cred" than any other car....or as some people describe it, the wank factor. lol

Meh.

What can you do.

I bought my car for various reasons, it isn't a ford or holden, it has potential for much higher power with minor mods, it looks good (to me) and is a well built, reliable car. The same can be said about other imports but I'm extreemly happy with mine.

so when you think about a nice 32 gtr is around about 25-27. if you want something that is atleast decnet.

33's are pretty cheep in this respect.

Hmm 22-25k you could get something decent i reckon.

More than 26k onwards i'd expect a pretty immaculate 32 in all aspects.

Depends on your luck.

yeah they do have a massive "street cred" only because in 2f2f the skyline won and not the supra!!! also alot of people mistake a gts-t for a gtr... i think gtr is what makes the street cred. and word skyline gives the rest of the street cred to the gts-ts

but all and all... every single car theres alot out there!.. well most.. for example i see alot of stock commadores... and i dont give a second look coz it aint a poser or a "racer" etc etc... same with skylines... see alot of stock r33's and i dont give a second look.... but if its got mods... you look coz u know the person likes to mod... so whats under the hood???

or whats up in the hood...

    • I hope one day I can do it like you. Your engine looks great.
    • If there's nothing else I can do I'll probably do something like that Someone on the internet said that ca20s and ca18 engine blocks are the same and that you can use a ca20 engine block and put ca18det parts to make a ca20det Do you think this is possible or will it damage the engine?
    • Yeah, I did some research and found out that some things are different.
    • Makes sense, thanks! Consider me very impressed. And I very much appreciate the effort in documentating all of it. You'd be surprised, or maybe not, how many people this reaches who search for things online. Anyways, I shall continue to read all of it, understand maybe a quarter, and hope that some of it sticks if I ever end up in a situation where it's relevant
    • 'Did' work on them is more accurate ~ on the R31 Skyline forum, you can spot me as 'Solder'... I've written quite a bit about the 4R01 boxes there, and I ended up reverse-engineering the older TCU type operations, so we could fudge a custom TCU to pull off other tricks...and like all things, when you do it a lot, see the failure patterns, have to find parts etc etc, your head ends up filled with whys and wherefores... there was a reason Nissan went with these in more than 60models over 16+ years... all in all, the JR401E based design is an interesting study, as Nissan changed things over the years in a never ending battle against them lunching on themselves <grin>...by the time the RE4R01A rev.C came out (often referred to as RE4R01B), they'd more or less perfected the design...
