Take the 12 months - it'll teach you to be a better driver.

I had to hold my load for 12 moths once (couldn't lose the licence - would have meant the job) and it really teaches you to be very aware of the road and road rules.  Consequently I have accrued very very few points since that time.

Definitely a learning experience :-)

I agree with this man :)

Not having a go at you mate but to get to this stage you must have been doing something wrong. To now want a GTR in the short term could well increase your chance of replicating that error.

Go for the 12 months, learn from what you did and if you and the people around you (assuming they look out for you) think you can handle something quick like a GTR, then go for it. As you said, shannons dont like a suspension.

Dont become a statistic dude. B)

I didn't read everything that Sydneykid said, but i have tried court stall tactics before so that in the meantime i came off my Ps and onto my Opens, but i still lost my licence because in Qld the points are backdated to the time of offence.

I've taken both suspension options before and if you can at all manage to last 3 months without your licence (riding a bike to work, etc) then i'd take that option, get it all over with. That's what i did the first time but now i'm on a 12 month probation and its an awfully long time. I had to sell my highly modified silvia and buy a daily driver, and now i'm rarely going to be able to drive my GTR for another 9 months until i come off probation.

And with regards to insurance, most (if not all) insurance companies ask if you've had a suspension or probation.

really, its not that hard to drive a car on the road and not earn any demerit points

i lost 11 of my 12 points in about 6 months through careless driving

since then, ive driven for nearly 2 years without any demerits being issued

i just drive the speed limit, dont race anybody and take things ez

thanks for the sydney kid and others. i asked my insurance company if my 3 month licence cancelation through points affected my insurance, and they replied, - no, it decides wether or not we insure you, it doesnt alter cost.

i say definetly go for 3 months if u can do it. dont drive, unless of course u dont care.. and then you are back on full points.

Sounds like all those who went for the 12 months good behavior havent been able to snap out of it B)

    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much

    • 😜 hopefully we get this instead of a new R36 GTR due to recent financial problems at Nissan. Nismo to sell a complete kit with RB26 and driveline. All starts making sense (ok maybe not) once the Nissan Leaf's (Leaves?) with stuffed EV motors/batteries hit the market cheap
    • Hi guys , have had allot of time for SAU and has helped me out heaps in the past so I thought I would give it a go , I have my QM1 white NUR for sale 1 of 156 examples built by Nissan. Serious personal messages please if interested and details will be provided , asking 500k
    • Oof. Could be worse I guess. I suppose they haven't put any effort into ally suspension parts or CF panels, seats, etc. So they could probably pull about half of that back out of the car. Not like a bunch of other EVs that already have CF everything and roll the scales at ~2t.
