I had cut springs in my BMW i used to have, now that thing was slow and just a cruiser, I wouldn't cut them in a new school car tho! just go to a spring company and get them reset at least. Here in adelaide we have a place called Industrial Springs and they do them pretty cheap!

:) *cough* :) As a "performance enthusiast" most members here would recommend against it... Surely King Super Low Springs aren't that expensive anymore????

Infinitely more expensive than cutting your own springs, which comes to $0!!! :P With the low centre of gravity the car would handle fully sick!

Seriously, though, what the hell? You're not actually considering doing it are you? :)

Why use springs? Hell why bother with even the shocks!

Take the both out. Take the springs down to you local scrap metal yard, and ask them for 4 lengths of steal rod. The you use them instead of your spring and shock combo. You save money, as you never need to replace either item again. Dont have to worry about bump steer ever again, drifting will be like childs play. Hell with that set up you could even take out your sway bars and get some quick cash for them too! Its just a win win situation!

haha i new this would rattle a few cages! im just seeing if any 1 has dun it! in my sprinter i dont even have springs! it just sits on the bump stops! and no i dont want a vn keep your fully sick comments 2 your self!

although i was thinking about heating the springs and compressing them at my factory.

my mate in his cressida choped his, we rolled a tenis ball under it and it got stuck!

so has any 1 dun it?

chopping springs is for... idiots.

1. comfort and handling are shite

2. spring may (or may not) fall out over bumps

3. your shock will be totally stuffed in a month or twos time

4. say goodbye to insurance, 3rd party or full comp. chopping spring is illegal and insurance companie will get out of anything for any reason.

King spring are only about $240 for 4 springs.

I lowered my VS properly. Shock spring and panhard bar. $1200 all up, i prefer to do thing properly the first time.
