General Turbo Questions

Hey, Im currently looking at purchasing a VL turbo (its what I can afford for now)................anyhow I was just wondering what sort of test's I should get done to the turbo to check for any leaks. How Much they will cost roughly and how much does a Turbo re-build set you back?

Any help will be much appreciated.

leaks where?

unless its blowing smoke out the ass, which could still be a number of things.

i'd be more concerned about the motor/drivetrain condition, turbos are cheap to replace

oh okay. well I know for a fact that it runs perfectly no smoke blowing, its had a re-build. I just thought I should of had the Turbo looked out for turbo leaking (explain to me?) I was told to get a Hi Flow test.............isnt that just the exhaust check pretty much?

Get a leak down test done and drop the oil and get it tested. Do a search on them if you want more details
