I found a Skyline R33 1996 S2 4 door turbo man, and was wondering if the tail lights on it could be changed to the standard series II 2D coupe skyline tail lights. The ones that are on the car now, arent like the normal ones but instead look like the older ones. Its hard to explain without a picture.

Anyways, can i put the other lights on to it? I would think so, as they really never change the body shape if its the same series.

Also, would i be able to change the front headlights to the Series II 2D coupe head lights?

all the doors are different, if u have a look, the ass end on a 2dr and a 4dr are a totally different shape. the front end, however, could be changed to 2dr if u want.

unfrotunately the rear would have to remain 4dr style, either series 2 or series 1 look..... Personally i like the 4dr series 1 look better....

Hmm, ok. Well i was having a look at them and was thinking about putting the 2dr taillights on with the 2dr rear bumper. I say this because it seems as though the tail light shape is the same, but the bumper is higher since the indicator and rev light are in the middle (like a R32)

How about that?

Edit:

One other thing, am i going to have trouble finding a body kit for the rear? and parts? eg 2dr series 2 head lights and bumper.

All front end on a 4 door eg bumper, lights and bonnet are the same as the 2 door. One thing you can do to the Rear is to get some Autech tail lights (only cause they look kool) and color code them to your car like this one.

Pretty sure those rear lights are standard series 2 fair. This was my old series 2 sedan that I imported 1.5yrs ago in manual.

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to come I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
