You actually need an International Rally to compete in Targa, at least in the Modern Competition I'm in anyway.

Next Month is Targa Tassie!!! :aroused:

Good on you for doing Targa, you should have a blast, just remeber 9/10ths and you should go good. Having to have an International Rally licence for Targa is another demonstation of why Rally of Tas. is a better value for money exercise in my opinion. (pretty sure you can do it with a National Rally licence)

Good luck,

machg

Yes, the International Rally Licence is relatively expensive, but putting it in perspective, it’s not even this cost of two 17” RE55s tyres.

Event for event, Rally Tas costs $135 per stage, Targa is $137. Rally Tas being better value? I think not. Rally Tas being better suited to some people’s time constraints more to the point perhaps.

PS. A National Rally Licnence can be used the in non-competitive Thoroughbred Sport category of Targa. The Thoughbred Sport being the non-speed restricted category where Targa Trophies are run for, but not outright competition or placing.
