N1 Oil Pump In Rb25det

My question is can I run N1 oil pump in rb25det without any problems and without any modifications?

If you are using one please share your mods and opinion on it?

The N1 variant pumps are not designed for normal traffic and plodding along. They are designed for high rpm use such as track conditions

search button is your friend, and would tell you a lot more about interchanging pumps between RB motors

RB20/25/30 cranks have narrow oil pump drives, same as early RB26's.

Later model RB26's have wide flange oil pump drives on the crank

N1 = N1 (production cars circuit racing class) homologated part for GTR

There is no such thing as N1 homologated parts for GTST (or GTT)

Personally I would never use a high pressure N1 oil pump on a crank with a narrow drive flange, I have seen too many cracked oil pump rotors with obvious signs of angled narrow flange loadings.

You can get a crank collar (Proengines make one) that converts a narrow flange oil pump drive crank into a wide one. The crank needs to be machined to fit the collar, so out of the car.

can anyone tell me the size of a short verus long oil pump drive on the front of the crank. i brought a new rb26 crank 18months ago and want to measure the drive before i refit it. i assume the all new cranks from nissan would have the wider drive but want to double check. pics or measurement would be nice.

I thought the collar was a direct fit on the sort drive crank to convert it to long drive - are you saying the crank needs to be modified to suit the collar ? Even for the Jun adaptor ?

It does have to be machined.

Early cranks are about 8-10mm later are about 20+.At home so cant tell you exact but close enough for you to know.

The details to fit the collars are below, it's a not a big job but the crank needs to be out of the engine.
