Hi guys, as my car is not a daily driver I would like to remove my air conditioner condenser and all associated air con piping from my R32 GTS-4 in favour of further weight reduction.

Could anyone give me any instructions/tips/considerations on doing so?

Cheers :P

one thing i noticed that made the whole thing easier on my gts-t was a knife. It's just an air conditioning unit and i could care less about selling it for a few bucks. so I took a bolt cutter and sharp serrated knife to everything and unbolted/removed small pieces instead of keeping it all together.

for the amount of sanity that would have been lost due to pissing about with neatly doing things, the money wouldn't have been worth it.

if you don't care about not making a couple dollars off the selling of your used system, i highly suggest this route :P

i suggest using a mallet on your head....

Anyhow, you will need to pull off the piping and things, that is fairly easily. You will also need to move the power steering pump and remove the power steering belt to make it easier to get to the correct bolts. So you will have to undo it and push it to the side to allow you to the bolts that get the compressor off. I didn't find it too difficult, never having done it before.

Its probably an hour or so job to get it out, but the thing does weigh a fair bit, if thats your thing.
