hi guys,

this thread is targeted at people that own/have experience with power fc's...

i have a PFC Pro installed on my s13 running RB25DET... now i am sure that all PFC "PRO" models have L/C ... this should be found by selecting "REV LIMIT" and then hitting the "NEXT" button...

but when i try to get to it, it simply doesnt work... i press "NEXT" , arrow right and all possible keys (that i know of ) and nothing happens...

What am I doing wrong now??

here is a pict taken of my installed and running PFC...

thanks in advance

did that paul... it just didnt work... i have read in a few forums that this is the way to do it... but the solution is/was so simply that it hurts my brain :P

it's the one below engine REV -the one set to 4000- :) - silly huh?

i have no idea whether this is normal for the PFC to have it displayed there, but this is where its on mine... i changed it down to 2000 rpm just to be on the safe side, and it kept the revs on 2000 ... no clue WTF those silly japanese call it A/C ?? ;)

anyway, thats the solution and it sounds ILL !!! :)

the FC A/C and FC A/C (both of them) are idle settings used for when the A/C is on in the car. Each setting is for voltage load and no voltage load ie: lights on and demister. Those settings on the normal FC are 1100 and 1000 respectively so that the idle is slightly higher when you have the aircon and lights on etc.

So I'm wondering if the Pro version simply just has the aircon switch always on, what does it show under SENSOR/ SW CHECK ? How do you select when this "alternate" idle setting is active instead of the normal 700RPM idle?

no problems. thanks. i guess they just wanted to add that feature with as little as effort as possible. would have been helpful if they had of renamed the menu item. so how do you select when the higher idle is to be active ?

this is more simple... its just by the IDLE A/C off/on ... there i can choose what revs i want the car to idle when warm...

but since i have the RB25 wired in my s13, i made a compromise between when A/C is ON or OFF because i skipped the ECU when wiring the A/C... so currently i am happy with 870 as idle...

normal fc users cant set the fc a/c on/off values higher but with datalogit they can. i will test some time this week if the same functionality is achieved by editing the rpm value with datalogit and then manually activating the aircon relay without turning the aircon on

    • Absolutely this. Yes, except not vacuum hose. Something oil/fuel safe is a better idea.
    • Like a Stagea, but not as cool! Hope you have enough garage space for this, or is something going to leave to make way for it?
    • The new project has arrived. I have wanted one of these for such a long time, well before that meathead Clarkson drove one in Africa. I really wanted an E34 but I have some medical issues that mean I *really* can't bump my head and the lack of airbags in the E34 made it just too big of a risk.  I don't know why I've always liked these older touring BMW's to be honest, but man I love this car. She's been pretty well maintained for her 243k's with what appears to be only a single oil leak at the oil filter housing gasket. It has a bunch of updates including later model bumper and headlights, 7 series billion-way adjustable seats and it came with a few spares and another set of wheels with legal tyres. I got a unregistered car permit from the RTA and drove it back from Canberra on Saturday.                   First cab off the rank is cleaning it up for blue slip. I dont know how picky they'll be but I figured I'd clean the headlights, fix the oil filter housing gasket, replace the speed sensors (throwing errors) and swap the OE wheels (the M Sport wheels have a big chunk out of one of the tyres.) I also need to replace all 6 gas struts - 2 for bonnet, 2 for hatch and 2 for hatch glass. The car tries to eat me whenever i open any of these. My plan for this car; Ultimately, this is a budget car. I can't afford to throw lots at it and its because I have another car that I got this, if something breaks its no big deal. I will just maintain and repair it really. But eventually I want to do a manual conversion. It actually looks pretty straight forward for E39's and the trickiest part will be sourcing the parts.  I do need to replace some suspension arms or bushes because wow, she's a floaty old girl. She's also fantastically slow. Like really, really slow. When pulling back out on to the freeway on Sat after a quick pull over I needed to wait until no cars were visible before going.  Oh, and the guy I bought it from had a gorgeous R31 GTS-X in the garage.
    • Do you have a picture? I assume it is a breather for gearbox oil as it expands, it should have a vacuum line run nice and high in the engine bay (R32 GTR has it on a top bellhousing bolt)
    • Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
