I think a sunday cruise to somewhere in the country could be a goer soon.. followed by a bbq lunch in a park or something.

Was thinking a cruise to Warwick ? 2 hour drive I think from goldcoast area, not bad area.. then back.. Some nice roads to there.

My vote is kind of for "all the above".

A purely skyline track day I'd be keen on, but a lot of people are a bit scared to get their car out there on the track it seems (hey if its going to break its going to break eventually :P). I think this was attempted before by Paul, but not too much interest to make it worthwhile ;)

Other -

I wouldn't mind attending all the above events, but the major factor determining me actually going is funds and what else I am doing.

:P

So what "Other" events do you want to attend?

public floggings?

or

private floggings?

social events -non car related.

Not all of us are into going into the valley and getting sh!tfaced but I don't think many of us would say no to a pint or so on a nice sunday afternoon somewhere. Or a good dinner somewhere central (I know there's regular chilli nights in loganholme)

paintball, laserforce, bowling, ice skating,

Or we could try to raise money with a Car Wash (who's got a bikini :lol: )

Oh and don't be scared of track days people.

we need another dyno day.

The last dyno day which was run by the club was also a very successfull Membership drive, but dont you think it is still a bit hot to run these durning the day? I know we could just find one to have at night, maybe a sausage sizzel for dinner and then do the runs once it gets cooler, like at 3am :(

I agree with slamm, there are heaps of things we could do, I like the idea of a bowling night....?

dyno day!!

it would all be relative so if all the same cars go on in the same time.. on same conditions it wouldn't matter. Dyno if its in shootout mode will have temp correction on anyhow.

great way to check if your tune is "safe" during the summer month

Only been on one organised cruise (not on this web site) to the sunshine coast since i got my car and have to say it was a complete dive. A solid "Group Drive" on some interesting road through the abbundance of dantree avalible to us ending up at some where like natural arch where you can swim and BBQ like Gordon suggested would be awsome. It would seem skyliners are a different breed and enjoy utilising all aspects of their car and not just dumping it, fitting it with the biggest set of rims that will fit the gaurds, driving on the boring free way for an hour to drive up and down the same strip all day. I love a good looking car but i got my car to drive it! which brings me to my choice: skid pan and test and tune events offer plenty of time to socailise as well as good clean fun in the drivers seat

Sorry, bit of a rant :P

    • I like it when the counter chick leads you out the back into the racks and says "have a grub around in here and see if you can find what you need. I'll be back in a few minutes. Just left me in front of a massive motorised shelving system and 2-3 million fasteners, so I could find a peculiar SS shoulder bolt with cap head. Gotta love country towns.
    • I used this https://osgiken.com.au/product/os-giken-os-250r-lsd-gear-oil-80w250-1-litre/   shut my nismo 1.5 pro up by heaps…. Not silent though. Gives the car character and personality. It ain’t a carolla. If you want silent, put a quaife in it.
    • It's about the same time for me from Bunnings, or the Fasteners. My big push away from takeaway food, and gluten in general keeps me away from the Bunnings Snags too! Weather up here, I've been out for two walks today in the beautiful sunshine. Had a few little drizzles, and some wind, that honestly, a tin of beans and I could compete on how harsh she blows Thankfully, being this bit inland, we're not getting anything much really. Will probably pick up a bit more when/if Cyclone Alfie decides to come ashore. A few areas in the GC though, and south into NSW are really getting smashed though! Right now, I'm just annoyed Alfie hasn't hit, as I'm not allowed to crack into the BBQ foods like the bacon and eggs until the Cyclone hits "In case we lose power"...
    • I love fastener joints, the price difference between them and joints like Bunnings or Super Cheap is amazing, and they either have exactly what you want, or they can get it to quick They have even given me some for free when I only needed a couple of specific size In saying this, I have paid premium for fasteners from Bunnings if they have the sizes I need, but only for convenience really, as my local is only 10 minutes away, the Sushi joint near them is also a consideration  How's the weather Matt? Stay safe mate
    • Wideband is worth setting up if only for tuning purposes. I would not mess with the ignition system unless there's a misfire. HKS crank trigger is popular out here for the relatively easily sourced Denso crank sensor, not a bad idea to install as well regardless of power level on a standalone. Boost leak test is worth thinking about. Oil pressure sensor tied to a fuel cut isn't a bad idea either. Getting the tune figured out is a good idea. Without putting eyes on it and getting under it there's no way for us to tell you exactly what it needs but most likely you're down to the last 10% that will make a big, big difference in how happy you are with the car.
