Turn on sigs!

Please turn on image tags in sigs. If the images are hosted on our private webspace it doesn't use any of the board bandwidth so what's the problem?

So long as there are set limits for maximum size so someones sig doesn't take up half the screen...

Yer.. i fink we should turn them on but make it a 120x800 pixel limit just to keep things tidy.

it takes me ages to down load all the crapy pics form my computer..etc.

Hence 800wide by 200 high

plus the text loads before the images do anywhere once its been loaded into your cache you wont have any problems if ur worried about waiting for them to show

it should be on by default and if ppl like PVA_Glue don't want to see them they can turn off sigs in their personal preferences. Simple.

It makes the board look better and adds a personal touch.

So it doesn't use bandwidth and the few people who don't want to view them can turn them off.

Personally I don't like them...

I think an avatar, plus your title, plus whatever text you have in your sig is enough of a personal touch.

But if enough of you guys REALLLY want them, we could put it to a vote perhaps?

We don't need pictures in sigs.

I agree with Shell, a small avatar and a text-sig is more than enough really.

I want to read people's posts and verbal diahorrera, not load up 5 photos of their car, dog, or bunny rabbit every page...

They clutter the board and make it more annoying to read and use.

The admins have already discussed this and we decided that they are not needed, you have an avatar. They were a pain in the ass on the old forums.

If people are concerned about sigs and the like they can turn them off in there User cp.

Show user's signatures in their posts?

Show user's avatar in their posts?.

Maybe just email all user's or make a sticky post telling people of their options.

yes and if you limit the pixel size to a resonable size then (such as 200x800) then it won't be a problem.

Your argument against them is seriously flawed...if YOU don't like them then YOU can turn them off in your preferences and never even know they exist anymore.

they were a pain in the arse on the last forum because some idiots had massive images that took up half the screen! if you prevent this from happening then the sigs of members beautiful skylines will complement this great board nicely.

Grim GTS-t, I see what you're saying but turning them off in your preferences turns the whole sig off...and I think most of us would still like to be able to see the text part of the sigs where ppl have a personal comment or a link to their homepage etc...
