Drop of oil under my diff... what could it be?

After the WA cruise yesterday (read: hard driving) i got home and noticed something strange.. I have a drop of oil hanging from underneath my diff...and there is a spot of oil around the bottom of it.

Is this anything to worry about? It's obviously leakin from somewhere... what should I do?

The diff could be leaking, but it might just be from extreme driving. I'd clean it up, then drive normally for a few days, to see if it still leaks. If it does then take it to a mechanic, propably just a slight leak from a hydraulic line.

like normal oil colour..orange/amber clear colour. why ?

You just want to make sure all your oil levels are high enough, you don't want to run anything without enough oil.

fluids have different coulours. you can narrow it down where the leak is coming from that way.

Some diffs have breathers at the top, with alot of hard sideways work a small amount may get out. Othwise there is a leak.

Changing the diff oil should be done regularly in order to keep the LSD happy.

Driving hard can also cause the diff seals to bust. On torque RWD cars a few hard launches can do them in.
