Keep Blowing/breaking Crank Angle Sensors

hey guys

i got a rb25det and the crank angle sensor keeps going??

jus wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what could be causing the problem, one went so i replaced it with the one off my rb25de and it lasted only 2 hours last nyt, had to tow it home so im tryin to fix it properly, tow trucks costin to much money!!

hehe had the same problem... you keep busting the bearings I assume?

that was my problem turns out the CAS bracket was slightly bent making the CAS sit on an angle and not in line with the camshaft, so after awhile it would either break the camshaft keyway or the CAS bearings would die

yeah its aligned properly, on properly everything, one problem is heat in my engine bay, it sits about 1 cm from a 3 core radiator and has a intercooler pipe running on it too.. its in a 180sx..

Never had any problem with CAS, except the plug tried to fall off once.

You've got everything there, including the camwheel cover?

yea make sure you got the cam wheel cover and the rubber seal/o-ring that site between the CAS and the support bracket

if any of this is missing you could easily mount the CAS on an angle and it'll vibrate as the cams spin

Sounds more like a wiring problem.....if by 'blowing' you mean they're failing electrically. Since it's been adapted to the 180SX wiring system, might be worth double checking everything.
