Looking at buying a R32GTSt shortly.

There are a few models i have seen and would like to know more about them

I know the last of the 32's came out with a RB25. Do they have the bigger 5 speed box's like the 33's?

what other changes does this model have? How much more would you expect to pay for one, both cars condition being equal?

What is an M spec, how does this differ from standard?

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Actually all gtst's came with 5 studs but the main differences with a TRUE M-Spec is the car has side and rear skirts as well as a slightly different bumper, it also has different trim plastic inside and the dash vinyl is also different. There is aparently over 200 differences on the Type M acording to the Japanese NEW CAR catalogue.

I'm not too sure about the side and rear skirts. I did *a lot* of research into what was a Type-M before I got my car and side skirts and rear pods don't seem to be a determining factor.

Take a look at the attached pic - its a good guide to what is a Type-M

I actually had the original 1992 Nissan Skyline brochure from Japan totally in Japanese of course and a friend read some of it to me. It was quite detailed about the differences and did include what I mentioned above I just can't remember the others.

A point to remember is that there were some minor changes to the general line up during the production period so a 1990 Type-M may be a totally different car to the 92 Type-M My comment was based on the 92 onward R32 Gts-t Type M.

interesting. As my 1993 Type-M (and it has been confirmed as a Type-M) doesn't have side skirts or rear skirts.

it is hard to tell by side skirts and wheels, as these parts can simply be changed over, , deorbit, your car might have had some but were cracked and taken off, or previous owner just didnt like them etc..

yeh you might be right there. The one thing that is sure to be a Type-M is to look for the 4pot brakes if the 16" GTR type mags have been replaced by aftermarket rims.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
