HI There,

If a fuel pump is on it's last legs what are some tell tail signs that it needs replacing?

Could one be that when I turn the boost up (to say 11 psi) and floor it a sudden fuel cut comes in.... like all power stops, cause when I turn the boost down to 9psi it works fine...

Also when I touch the accelerator lightly I can here a high pitch noise from the back of the car.. (and also when cruising at 60 I can also here it then).

So that said, if it is my fuel pump should I just replace the unit with a new factory Nissan one or buy a second hand GTR or what?? ( I have an R33 gts-t with FMIC, Air, boost - 163 rwkw's)

Are they just a simple replacement or do they need a lot of work to get in?

Thanks for the advice.

Rob

Welcome to the world of boost cut - above 12psi and your computer says I've had enough.

You can buy a defender to stop this happening, but if you are thinking about upgrading the ecu or fitting a SAFC(I think), you wont have to worry any more.

As to what to do if you have to replace your fuel pump (which I dont believe you do yet) that will depend on what your future hp goals are
