Hey guys,

I am looking at purchasing a gtt r34 which comes with GAB suspension.. it drives fine.. not too hard or soft.... check out the ride height from pic.

However, the seller will swap to a set of TEINS as he sold an R34 to an old guy who thought they were too hard for his old bones.

As I haven't tested the car with the TEINS and don't think I will get to unless i buy the car, is it worth the risk...

if i don't like the TEINS then i'm stuck with them.

What are your opinions and experiences about the two settups???

I got TEIN in my car and it is the best I've got so far. I tried things like Tanabe Sustec Pro, Eibach, Apex'i, Koni, AC Schnitzer in my Bimmer and I think nothing beats TEIN. In fact, I'm pretty sure it is the best suspension in Japan.

Never tried a GAB, and I gotta mind you that TEIN is, depending on the model, HARD! I suggest you check with them, what type of TEIN is that... They are much more expensive than a GAB, too!

I got the HA... It is 'the cheapest', by the way... The HR, RA and the others are better, of course... But the entry level would do for the street. The differences are shown in their website, mainly light constructions and racing-purposes mechanism kinda stuffs...

Take my word, go for the HA... It's very good already!

I don't think GAB would be harder than TEIN, unless the TEIN unit has done so many mileage...

Are these models of tein all adjustable? And does this affect the hard / soft charateristics?

I am looking at getting a set of TEIN adjustables, though i dont know which version it is, how do you work it out? Is it stamped on them somewhere? Price is $800, secondhand, came off a 34 [which is what i have].

Okay, their prices, brand new, ranging from around $2500 to $7000. They are mainly height adjustables, but some comes with damper adjustable as well... Usually they put some kind of label on the tube...

For $800, it's cheap. But check out the condition before purchasing, tho... They could be dodgy... After about 30,000 miles, the don't perform as good anymore. Mine has done around that mark and it squeaks like mad now! I think the time has nearly come...

Well, not exactly... people are usually love them or loathe them... In Japan, people usually go with anything that suit their needs... Here, people usually go with the most popular ones...

GAB is a good set, along with some others that probably Aussie never heard of... They might be manufactured by the same company, but they sure have different specs for different purposes...
