Looking at buying a R34 which is currently in WA but still registered with Victorian number plates, does anyway know what the requirements are to run this car over the pits in WA?

Does the car have to be standard to manufactures specs as the car has front mount intercooler and 19" rims etc etc

e.g the "pits" is a roadworthy certificate for WA

Hey guys whats required when moving a car from VIC to WA.

I know i need to run it over the pits

But his as few mods which ones arnt legal?

This is what the car has.

19 INCH MAGS,

APEXI SAFC 2,

FULL STAINLESS TURBO BACK EXHAUST,

GTR STYLE BODYKIT,

TIP TRONIC AUTO WITH F1 STYLE SHIFT PADDLES,

BLITZ BLOW OFF VALVE,APEXI AIR POD FILTER,

TURBO TIMER, ELECTRONIC SUNROOF,

XENON ELECTRONIC ADJUSTABLE HEAD LIGHTS,

ELECTRIC FOLDING MIRROR,

BLITZ FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER,

OPTIMA DRY CELL BATTERY,

FULL KEYLESS ENTRY WITH REMOTE ALARM,

TYRES 93% NEW,

BOOST,

OIL TEMP & PRESSURE,

VOLT GUAGES

This is based from my experience of having 7 yellow stickers.

19 INCH MAGS - should fail them, max size is 17"

APEXI SAFC 2, - will normally pass, but best to hide it

FULL STAINLESS TURBO BACK EXHAUST, - no problem unless it's too loud

GTR STYLE BODYKIT, - no problem unless it's too low

TIP TRONIC AUTO WITH F1 STYLE SHIFT PADDLES,

BLITZ BLOW OFF VALVE,APEXI AIR POD FILTER, - BOV may get failed if it makes any significant noise, air pod need to be securely mounted

TURBO TIMER, ELECTRONIC SUNROOF, - turn turbo timer off, sunroof should be fine

XENON ELECTRONIC ADJUSTABLE HEAD LIGHTS, - HID may get picked up and failed

ELECTRIC FOLDING MIRROR, ok

BLITZ FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER, - ok if securely mounted and front support bar not cut

OPTIMA DRY CELL BATTERY, ok

FULL KEYLESS ENTRY WITH REMOTE ALARM, ok

TYRES 93% NEW, ok

BOOST, gauges ok aslong as the don't block line of sight to road

OIL TEMP & PRESSURE,

VOLT GUAGES

Cheers

Interesting.....

In vic the rules state that any rim can be 1inch bigger than the biggest rim that was fitted to that chassis from the factory. Ie the R34 gtr was fitted with 18" std therefore even the gtt is legally allowed 19".

Also in regard to the xenons, when the car is complied the xenon globes are removed (supposedly destroyed) and replaced with oz spec non-xenon globe. Unless the owner has replaced these with xenon globes they should be legal.

On a side note I can't believe they check all this just for a WA rego!! In vic when I imported mine and reg'd it all they did was check the chassis and engine no's! You only worry about things like exhaust and ecu if you get the dreaded EPA notice :D

OK well i need to change the xenon lights then before the inspection.

I talked to guys today at the licensing centre and what they told me, all mods should be ok like froon mount and air filter as long as they are fitted correclty.

Also the rims can be 2 inches larger than manufacturers specs, so i think the gt-t standad is 17". the info is inside in the door section of the car.

The other thing is the TV, as it need to be mounted to the brake so it can only be turned on while stationary.

So that covers just about it.

What globes do i go get from the shops, well some cheap replacements?
