Just a quick question, can the RB20DET ECU be tuned to any degree? as in timing? fuel? anything else, and how much boost can it handle?

it can have the eprom replaced and a retuned rom put in..

alternatively you can also install a rom board lik the bikirom to drive them..

A stock ecu will fuel cut before too much boost can be wound into it.

Unless you are running 100 ron fuel you will get detonation on much more than 13 psi on a stock tune and intercooler.

Get it remapped and it will do all that...since you're in VIC...you can pay DR DRIFT a visit...he does remapped ecus...PM me if ya want his no...

RedDrifter.....dude what the hell u on about he aint talking about anything....and u can still get detonation on stock map with 13psi on 100 ron.

A stock ECU can be tuned quite in depth but the price that you will pay for a in depth tune u could get a PFC.

So a good thing to do is go get a simple re-map from Dr-Drift to suit your mods.

Mate I was just reffereing to the very first post thats all.

After I did the exaust and upped the boost to 13psi I tended to hit fuel cut every so often and get a bit of detonation.

This was the case aswell on my brothers R32 aswell.

I was just making a generalisation thats all.

And yes it is very much quite possible to get detonation on 13psi on 100ron with a stock kooler.
