Hey guys

I have an opportunity to buy a Grade A 93' GTST, 96kms with 18's and all for $10,500. There is however a catch, it is AUTO.

I am a huge performance fan and can not live without a manual, esp in a turbo jap car.

I was wondering if it were worth buying the car and doing a transmission Swap.

Has anyone done one of these before and seen the results?

I would really like to buy the car if the tranmission swap can be done properly. I have driven many silvia's that have been done and it is impossible to tell.

Any places in Melb which can carry this out and wat sorta figure would I be looking at.

Your help would be most appreciated.

Michael

buy a manual for $3500 extra.. can be hard to track down the parts, and they can be expensive..

No you wouldn't be able to tell the difference (except on the firewall plate), but the conversion would probably be around $3000 anyhow.

$3000 Im assuming would include fitting as well?

Was wondering if there was a place that could do all the hunting down and convert it all for me...

Just trying to guage whether or not its worth buying the auto car.

Once AGain Im keen to hear of anyone who has actually experienced this conversion and the results they have seen, would be great

Cheers

It's a fairly straight forward swap. Tailshaft is the only thing that would need to be modded if you can't find a manual one. There are places doing rb20 -drive in drive out- swaps for as low as $1400. Sooo.. If rb20 manuals can be had for $300-$400 S/H.. I wouldn't be paying much more than $2500 for a rb25

Thanks for that. I wouldnt imagine the RB25 to be too much differernt.

Can you point me in the direction of any of these company's doing drive in drive out rb20 conversions for $1400.

If they do rb20's I dare say they would be capable to do an RB25.

If you could help me track a few down would be great.
