thats good news man!

finally the cops do something good for an import car!

not to mess up this good moment but can the cops still inspect your car while your not there? and give ya a yellow sticker for anything? anyways man

good news

30yr old?

man i thought it was some lil boongs or sumfin :D

adrian

No way!!!!

What cop would give some poor guy a yellow sticker thats just had his car stolen!!!!

And if they do ( The police never cease to amaze me ) claim the guy who stole your car installed it and that you don't know anything about it :D

I believe the keypad is installed on top of your alarm/immobilliser... So even if you have the keys and disarm the alarm and immobilliser you still need to enter your pin number into the keypad before the car will allow you to start it...

Please anyone correct me if I am wrong...

Hey Woody,

Good news dude!! Well put it this way... if it is in bad condition or the more reason to get your engine ported and polished and be like a new baby! Did you have the mods insured? did you tell the insurance co that you had all these mods on it? If any mods are broken it could work in your favour:uh-huh:

alan, glad to hear that, you got it back early which is good. If anything is really damaged then get insurance to cover it. I think ur gonna wanna steam clean the inside of ur car, get all the dirty thievness out of it. Hope it runs well and is ok :P

THanks guys,

I haven't heard anything more since 7:00am this morning, but i rekon as long as he hasn't done any curb crawling or side swiping of lamp posts, then the car will be fine and it will need a good service and probably new tires (even though i just put new tires on a couple of days ago... :( )

Unfortunately i already got a yellow sticker and the bastard removed it when he stole it, so i hope i don't get a fine for $400 for removing it...

If there is any damage to the car i'm going to talk to the cops about pressing charges and get some money to pay for new tires and any other damage... Maybe i should also sue for $1,000,000 for the emotional stress involved... :P That would be sweet!!

Dan,

Nah i haven't told the insurance about the mods yet, but i plan too soon and also get the keypad installed straight away!!!

I also plan to not drive the car for a week so as to let things calm down (cops may still be looking for it, angry people might reckonise it) stuff like that...

I am also hiding my keys and wallet somewhere really good too...

And yeah i'll get the car detailed to get the scum outta it...

Alan.

:D

Ahhh ..... yeah I have always used Action Alarms for my cars.... I have been happy with their work but didn't want to mention it because I didn't know if they did the keypads too...

Now that I know that I too would like to get some idea on how much they cost.... There are completely independant of your alarm too arent they so they will work with pretty much all alarms.

Also find out where about they will fit it in your cabin if you can ...

Thanks

Brett

KEYPADS: When I wanted to get a keypad I was told it was not a good idea. If someone breaks into your house and gets your keys, then they find out they can't break the code, they are likely to come back into the house to force you to give them the code. IF you don't co-operate you will probably be hurt.

He suggested to me an alarm system that has a secret switch hidden inside the car, and you have to press it before you start the engine. If the switch is not pressed the car automatically stops after 40 seconds ( I think fuel supply stopped).

That gives the thieves enough time to get far enough away from your house that they are unlikely to come back. Only drawback is that it is a whole new alarm system about $500, as it cannot be incorporated into your existing system.

Talk to Darren at Technik 0412 909 901 if you are interested. He has done a lot of work on my car, he specialises in imports, and I have never had any problems with his work.

Well Guys my baby is sitting at home safe and sound, it's in the locked garage with the CDI unit removed... I've taken some pictures (http://alan.awoodman.net/stolen/) the engine bay shots is just for interest sakes, theres nothing wrong with the engine from what i can tell so far...

There is cigarette ash everywhere as well as peanuts and water... At least i think its water...

The dudes name is Ian Charles Varga (spell?), a 30yo aboriginal, there was a news report on channel 7 and it showed my car...

I'll be speaking to the senior office tomorrow morning and finding out much more information and when i do i'll let you know...

Woody.

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
