Factory Solenoid, Can I Ditch It?

Hey guys, just went for a drive w/o my factory boost solenoid, after having got a boost tap, and i could not notice any difference watsoever, so is it ok to completely remove the solenoid from the engine altogether (like i have)???

i basically took off the one bolt holding it in place, no hoses were tapped into the 2 nipples on the solenoid (since i have my tap) , and i disconnected the plug connected to it, and placed the unit in the garage.and the plug that was originally connected i just hid away from sight.

ive noticed nothing different so far, and was wondering if i can leave it this way, as long as no harm is being done.
