micheal is in the army so he wont get to see his car till easter sometime so i decided to post up some pics.

The car just got picked up today and i miss it already, I tell ya driving a RB25det is a little better than just a RB20det. Oh well enjoy

check it out and tell me what you think.

So are you a panel beater/painter? or just do that as a bit of a hobby sorta thing.

I would just say a hobby, my dad is a painter. and i spose watching him all the time made me like doing it as an on the side thing..

the left hand side rear was hit by a post lol and made a fair bit of damage, so i fixed that for him and did the dash as well.. It doesnt seem to look as good in the pics, but all the parts inside the car have around 7 layers of 2pac clear over it.

I only did it that many times cause that sort of stuff cops a bit of a belting and i have see cars with stuff painted and half of it chiping off.. cant have that now..

pity your in bundy lol

Im gonna start to sand back mine in the next month or so and re-paint it. Paint job is shocking on it so yeh, and fix a few of the dings up. So don't be surprised if you get a few PM's from me lol

 thats ok mate.. PM away, ill help ya any way i can. The only problem i had with the dash was the person who painted it b4... lol some bronze crap colour, It all had to come off. And because anything inside the car has more than likely soaked up shit loads of armoral and many other paint hating chemicals!

use alot of prepsole b4 sanding and aftersanding.

Or you will have fish eyes and paint frying up b4 your eyes, lol

And use some type of plastic primer as well to help the paint stick.

But yeah mate, any problems give me a yell.

Another modified plenium i see there.....

I do wonder if these are any good???

I mean Greddy would have spent millions on R&D of their pleniums... But how much better do u reckon they are???

I mean i just want to cut down on intercooler piping and the crossover pipe cops heaps of heat before i finally get to the plenium....

Ummmm wonder???

I think predator did this conversion also... I may just ask him... LOL

Yeah it was picked up from the coast about a year ago! last easter i think...

Im sure he said that it did have a lot more mods done to it, but when he got it alot of it was put back to stock. But yeah, im not too sure on the full story.

LOL yeah i pulled the TT apart and i painted it to blend into the whole Orange thing..

yeah they are like sandpaper to start with, but to get the best finish i gave it a hard sand to remove the old paint and also to remove the pumpy surface.. Then used some sprey putty to get it dead smooth.

Its a damm nice ride, pleasure to work on :)

I have also heard the g'reedy ones losing power... Cars are funny things.

Anyway, looks heaps nice, other than yeah wheels. I dont like chrome, but I think they would suit this. That or something darker.

mmmmm my baby looks nice as now. i owe you kezza mate. cant wait to actually see it in person though, my dad said it looks bloody sweet as in person and he is enjoying it lol old people and their mid life crisis's :P:)

HAHHAHHA.... glad to have helped you out bro... wish i could see ya face when you jump in it ;):)

Ahhh wow nice job. I too happen to be in bundy, you wouldn't happen to want to do that sort of thing to other peoples cars by any chancewould ya?

Me I have a r33 in need of a respray and am having trouble finding someone local I would trust to do a decent job. If you want get back to me in PM's

Thanx

    • Very nice - I also have a 92 GTST and hardly see any others around these days
    • When I need something else to edit, I use Movavi. A friend who does video editing on a daily basis recommended me) it's an easy video cutter to use for beginners

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
