It's kinda weird, my car has had a manual conversion, but the power is still to the old automatic switch, they one that sawy att or power w/e and snow, obviously this is disconected but there still current to it so when you switch it, the switch will light up, the power light allthough switch isn't on, flashes intime with the clicking sound, and stops right after. Hmmmm as you guys said its not a problem the car runs find i just find it odd it flicks???

I this a probelm you guys have found becuase yoru converted a auto to a manual, or were you cars allready MT's?

Just a though Michael

According to a post by someone (can't remember who) they found the clicking to be gears in the climate control playing up. The photo is one that they posted up. I seem to remember them saying it took 6-7 hours to get to it properly as you have to pull the whole dash out (speedo, vents, etc.)

exactly right ian, but it will take someone thats good with tools under an hour to get to it. my car is off the road atm so ill give it a go. ill post up pics on how to fix it.

im into fixing things without replacing them (unless it will be deemed unsafe). ive got a blower missing a gear so ive got to get in there anyway.

keep an eye out.

AFAIK, there's two air doors (I've got this problem too and I've read the original post where someone fixed it...)

First is the face/feet/screen door, second is the air con/external air adjust. My understanding is there's either a cog that allows it to recognise when it's reached the end of travel, or there's a little microswitch in there to do it. (There is definately a cog - this is what makes the "click, click".)

The air door(s) get to the end of their travel and the motor keeps trying to turn it, hence the click. Mine does it on startup, changing certain vents (face to feet, I think), and at certain temperature changes (which I why I think the air con/external air door, at least on mine, is causing the problem too...)

Not a major problem, just a nylon gear going "click", but it is an annoyance.. Apparantly the part to fix it is around $5 from Nissan, it's just a bugger disassembling your whole dash to get to this one little part!

    • interestingly enough, i found out the answer is yes. doing a flush did fix my recurring A/T light. it might have been because of the trans filter: but that doesn't really make sense to me. the fluid/filter was super dirty. would that increase the pressure in the lines and trigger an A/T light? does the car even have a way of detecting that? i have no idea. i've done 200+ miles after the flush and no A/T light. if my A/B solenoids went bad, i would think the light would've come on. shifts and drives way better now though...at 2k rpm instead of 2500...no hesitation and downshifts when i want it to.
    • I vote go red. Only because I hate keeping gloss black clean. Was no worries helping out either! Glad you've survived the rain outs of QLD
    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
