After a quick read it appears that jap cars are a lot cheaper in nz. I thought id share my stag with you guys. Got it for 19k NZD 10 months ago and that was above average price. Ive seen the same model for sale with only 70k on the clock for 12.5k.. granted it had a huge ugly wing on it :P

Specs are:

1999 Stagea RS-V

120k kms

RWD, not 4wd, some 100kg lighter.

Auto

RB25DET

Dayz bodykit from jap land.

Modifications currently:

18" Nissan G35 coupe wheels, 235 tyres

Lowering springs - Laurel front, cefiro rear (a bit too low, but ya cant find springs for rwd stags it seems)

Trust airinx filter.

Greddy Type RS BOV

Greddy ProfecB spec-2 boost control, runnin 0.75 bar.

Sound gear:

Panasonic CQ7401 headunit

JBL power series 6.5" front comps

Kicker k6.2 rear comps

Kicker S10L7 10" sub, in custom ported box

Pioneer GM-D510 D class monoblock

Fusion FP-1404 4 channel bridged to 2 channel run front speakers

I think thats all for the mo.

Next on the list for me is FMIC, Apexi SAFC2 and maybe some more sound gear.

Heres the pics anywho!

Nice car mate, kit looks nice,a nd love the spoiler. How do you find the handling of the RWD compared to the AWD? One of the guys where I work is considering importing a RWD stag to do a manual conversion and RB26DETT, the way he figures it's a lot cheaper and easier than converting an AWD model... coincidentally he's a kiwi too lol.

For a plain ol rb25det i think RWD is the better option. I have too much traction in the rear as it is! The 4wd version is really just dead weight in my opinion as the rwd model is already 1540kg, the only advantage would be snow going and suspension parts availability as the RWD model appears to use laurel type sus. gear.

Im not sure if the front suspension of the 4wd model will provide better handling but where the 4wd gains there i reckon i can catch up with a lower overall weight.

As for GTR gear in a rwd stag, i would probably go for the easy route and do it to a 4wd model. There are a couple of RS260s over here one in particular pushing towards the 350-400kw range on a T04z Also met a guy that converted an RS4-S to an RB26 and run down to the low 11's >:]

Once i get the safc2, fmic and exhaust i should be hitting the dyno to see what power it actually makes. Might be a while though heh.

I'm not the biggest fan of yellow but man that looks good, Rims look great on it too. Love the body kit, is it just the DayZ extra that has that kit? Is yours a prime edition with leather and woodgrain inside?

Yeah yellow grew on me too hehe.

All i know about the kit is that it came with the car from Japan and it has DayZ on it on the front and rear.

Unfortunately i didnt get leather, wood or sunroofs. I have gunmetal plastic instead which i prefer, but id kill for leather and twin sunnies. Leather looks mint in stageas, well leather is just mint anyway!

Love those wheels!

I'd love to get myself a set of those V35/G35 wheels for my Stagea, but there aren't that many floating around that I've noticed, so either I go for the original idea of racing-style wheels (still deep in my thoughts anyway), or start looking properly for a set of those Nissan wheels.

Nice car, congrats!

That's the second mellow yellow Staj I've seen other then the one parked outside and it is making me feel warm and fuzzy and sick all at the same time.

Those mags are 'floating my boat'.

The rear spoiler almost 'baked my potatoes.' I prefer the shorter stock style.

By the way, what's the warning sticker say? "Warning, do not attempt to drag this car or you will be humiliated!!

Dam your right I didn't even pick that up with the heads lights,  they are different around the edges. I wonder if the are stock like that.

The wheels cost me $600 NZD - roughly 550-600 AUD - second hand from a mag shop here (they must have been left from someone who upgraded their G35.) Tyres were nankangs and cost 220NZD per piece.

The lights appear to be factory. They have carbon fibre look surrounds. Maybe theyre part of the DayZ thing, im not sure.

Oh and its some warning for females not to wear tight clothing due to excessive acceleration. heh.

Heres some pics of one of the 260 RS's in NZ with r34 front.

Looks good.

$19k is a bit on the high side, but it has a lot of extra stuff and looks in good nick.

I like 4WD ever since a pulled out of a service station quickly in the wet and instead of sliding sideways, the car just went where I pointed it. It's also good around wet round-abouts.

By the way, you forgot to blank out your number plate in one of the photos.

Once again, nice car.

    • Welcome Jan, It's very likely that you are in over your head. You'll just have to learn to swim hard and fast! These old rust buckets have more ways to bankrupt us than almost any other car. But hopefully there's nothing wrong that ruins the whole show! We can help a fair bit. There's plenty here who've been fixing these things for >25 years. cheers
    • Hi all. First off, thanks for reading my post. So end of last season I put the car away knowing I was leaking at least two fluids. One of them being rear turbo's oil. I went to my car recently that is waiting in a garage to take a peek with my boroscope to try and see if I can narrow down the souce of oil before taking it out of storage. What I found is not so great I think. The rear turbo is (probably) leaking from the oil drain. The hose and it's clamps are probably the original ones, so most likely just worn out or loose. However I spotted a line of rust going straight down from the turbo oil feed, as if water leaked out of there at some point. Also explains the red liquid that was dripping from my front subframe, which I initially thought was power steering. I can even see coolant drops hanging off the side of the oil pan as well. After a quick hit on the web I found a select few discussions about porous engine blocks. My question is if the pics of the turbo oil feed and the left hand side of the block (imgur link below) looks like it could be exactly that to you. Maybe someone in the community has seen it before and knows what it looks like. If it actually is a porously leaking block, has anyone attempted at fixing it with simple methods like putting a sealer in the cooling system and using something like jb weld on the block surface, or will it just leak in 2 weeks again? I could not find any detailed info or pictures on this topic. If I need a new engine, tell me softly. https://imgur.com/a/knVvmZ8
    • Hey all. I'm 23 and from Germany, September last year I bought a mildly modded 1995 GTR Vspec. Looks great and was fun so far, but I already have a list of issues of various severity that I need to take care of, potentially growing longer the closer I look. I just hope I'm not in over my head, I really want to keep the car and work towards it becoming great. I hope y'all will help me out in getting there, I am positive I will need help sooner rather than later to figure out how to proceed. greetings, some pics of the car I posted to imgur. https://imgur.com/a/StKkabz
    • Would be interesting what the price would be without the barracuda wheels. Looks like he dropped it down to 40k. Maybe his mate wasn't correct about the 50k evaluation. Has always been a dream of mine to own an auto 33. Looks like I'll have to keep saving my pocket money or ask mum for more pocket money.
    • Thinking about importing a stagea as a family car since i’m getting married this year, thoughts? Me and my fiance both like stageas, but don’t have any experience with them
