mxtcy
woot, congrats on getting it on the road and letting the mods begin! Whats the sound like on the induction. I'm still running th stock box as i don't know what i really want to do with the car. Was the surround hard to fit. Can't wait to see it in the flesh Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/102855-to-settle-any-bets-about-my-r34/page/2/#findComment-1894221 Share on other sites
Nightcrawler
hey Sean - the induction noise is now fantastic - you can hugely hear the sucking sound and the turbo spooling up! The CAI is very easy to fit. The whole operation of fitting the CAI and pod took around half an hour in my garage. By far the easiest thing I will ever do to it. The gauges however took a significant amount of bracket fabrication time and stuffing around. All up I think it took around 6 hours. The alarm, GPS, pager system, multiple internal piezos and various other security features were fitted today. Segregated front/dump pipe (from Batmbl), Enhaust Control Valve, high flow cat and Jasma exhaust go on Thursday. Then I have to sort the suspension thing out (and you can have your springs back). Looking at Apexi coilovers at this stage. So on the weekend that leaves: HID kit, replace other globes with LEDs, reversing sensors, rear 400W 6.5" shelf speakers, 12" sub in box with amp, front door 6" DLS Splits, change all indicators to smoked, fit radiator hood, and various other items to do. So little time, so many little mods Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/102855-to-settle-any-bets-about-my-r34/page/2/#findComment-1894583 Share on other sites
slimjim
Is that exhaust control valve the one that has a switch in the cabin that allows you to silence your exhaust? If so... thats cool B) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/102855-to-settle-any-bets-about-my-r34/page/2/#findComment-1894641 Share on other sites
Nightcrawler
yeah James, that's the one. Made by Apexi, and is basically a 3" stainless weld-in tube with a butterfly/throttle type setup, that can be opened and closed from a knob in the cabin. My exhaust is very noisy, so I need this to quieten it down - but the beauty is I can still open it right up when I want to (only for track days of course). Oosh
I can HIGHLY recommend SydneyKid's susp. group by Andrew, the rides not too firm at all, and the handling is top notch (better than my Tein HA's without the super harsh ride). And it's only going to get better once i (if i ever) fit the sway bars! That's the R34 Group Buy. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...pic=88141&st=40 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/102855-to-settle-any-bets-about-my-r34/page/2/#findComment-1896262 Share on other sites

Nightcrawler
thanks Ash, I do like the kit SydenyKid has put together, but I really want my setup to be fully damper and height adjustable. Still deciding though. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/102855-to-settle-any-bets-about-my-r34/page/2/#findComment-1896506 Share on other sites
