how did adrian get it when ethan got 193rwkws? :P

I call "turbo-off".

Ethan and Adrian, (and RBFIRE with 197kw for that matter) should be recquired to have their turbo's removed and dismantled to check if they are indeed stock.

The only other way would be to just inspect the exterior and make sure that it is the original housing.

If you do this, I will gladly put up my turbo, which was high flowed by GCG, for inspection.

For interest sake, I made 205+ kw and was on the board for quite a while before I noticed that it had been scrubbed and left blank, only to be replaced by Doods' 185kw, and then pipped by Adrian's phenominal 190kw.

ps When I say me, I am talking on behalf of my Wife (Humbla), who was interested in giving the car a run.

The mix up was due to Elbee/Humbla's figure of 205 being put up in the stock turbo R33 GTS-T category. It was then removed when it was made known that it was a hi-flowed turbo. Therefore any previous high figures were not recorded, and I assume that ranicx's 193rwkw figure was "lost" as a result.

was a lil od.. although i guess quite a few cars went through during the day so easy to get things mixed up

I don't think the result was necessarily a mix up, but there have been some strange happenings with this friendly "Dyno Day".

Gday Adrian.

ah yeh that'd make sence.. ah well doesnt bother me too much. would be nice for my car to give back to me for once, lol :P

OMG!!!

was buster really there?!?!?! i got to uas around 10am... how could i have missed him :P

Read the previous posts by Buster. He said he was at a soccer game I believe.

I didn't see him, you didn't see him, I didn't see his name on the board soooooo ???

The question still remains as to whether Adrian's win was kosher or not.

You wouldn't want to go up against the "Bezerkley Boyz" now would you ?

I disagree. There was a mixup as I am sure that ranixc's figure was up in the R33 GTR-T stock category, but them after Humbla's car had its run, it was (mistakenly) put up as the highest stock R33 GTS-T's reading with 205rwkw.

Since no one was recording all the dyno run figures (apart from the highest on the whiteboard), this resulted in the mix up, and subsequently the following highest figures were put up on the board.

All of this hoo-haa could be easily solved with a better method of recording the highest results. eg. A selected SAU person could have a bit of paper with the highest results which he updates as people submit their dyno sheets to him. This would remove the accidental erasing of people's results.

Anyway, its all good!

So there was a mixup ?

Who decided whether Humbla's car was, or was not stock?

Who should have won ? ranicx, rbfire, humbla or good old what's his name ?

ps And by the way primordial, all is not good.

I was looking after the whiteboard for quite some time................then around 3pm i had to go.

looks like it turned to shit after that?

I'm almost certain that the guys at UAS had sheets for each car, and Adam had the category each car was in, by simply asking the owner of each car what category it was in. from that i think we can determine an accurate winner from each class.

    • The water pump is know to leak as well. So if the coolant is low checking that first as well as hoses.
    • Reading your posts Josh, sometimes I feel like I've gone in a time machine back to the 90's when everyone was doe-eyed and figuring things out for the first time.  I've lost track of how many single turbo GTR's I've seen on track that haven't burnt down lol. Everything has been figured out a long time ago. These things are at the point now where its essentially turn-key to go single turbo.
    • Among other things yes. Making sure to either use an oil pressure regulator or the right restrictor size for your oil pump/range of oil viscosities you intend to run, making sure you plumb the lines correctly, turbo should be placed such that it siphons properly even when the water pump isn't turning so you don't boil coolant in the turbo after shutdown, oil return should be low resistance and also preferably picking the one that is most likely to return to the pickup as opposed to some other irrelevant part of the pan. It's far from impossible to figure this out but I have seen people really, really struggle and if that's the case it's easier to just take the path of least resistance. To me, bolt-on twin turbos are a fixed cost whereas single turbo is almost unbounded.
    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
