Well I watched JAS-25T put Humbla up on the board with 205rwkw.

I didn't see much after that. Until..... I saw a blank spot.

Was this because ours was no longer deemed as stock ? Nobody has told us yet still...

(Assuming there was a protest or whatever) Who's call was it on stock or not ?

As I said earlier, my son was told by the dyno operator that all that was needed with perfect AFR's, was an aftermarket turbo (after having stuff like PFC, big injectors, split dump, E-Boost -2, splitfires, etc etc

Who is going to tell us what is going on ?

:P

I still dont believed i got 197kw@10 Psi,

just way too much.

I was expecting 170ish or 180ish kw MAX,

the figure wasnt right, unless i have an Aftermarket Turbo or ecu, which i am not aware of.

bonus? maybe?

i wan to get another dyno run, maybe at HITMAN,

to see how much the real figure is.

El Bee,

Jason did put Humbla up in R33 stock but then it was wiped off (not sure by who) after it was made known that it was a high flowed standard turbo (and hence deemed not stock). I took over the whiteboard duties after Jason left.

Looks like RBFIRE is out.

Anyone else for the "Turbo-off" ?

Looks like the Dyno was way out according to him.

I am inclined to agree to a point.

yea, i believe its out by miles,

the only mods i have are:

- split dump

- 3.5 Cat back

- R34 Ic

- K&N

- 10psi boosted.

as far as i know ppl have similar mods,

they make about 170-180

even tho my engine low kms, but cant be that much diffrent.

Seems to me that you have a stock turbo if you say that you do.

If you tell the world that your turbo has been high flowed, then you have an aftermarket one.

El Bee

when i installing my split dump, the turbo seem original.

the bolts that was holding the dump pipe pretty much rusted, stucked hard.

snapped 1 of the bolt while taking it off.

SO i dun fink I have aftermarket turbo,

If the figure is rite,

my best bet is the ECU,

but when i bought my car,

it stock as a rock, as it seem so, and it fresh imported.

Hehe.. good thing my PFC isnt tuned at all... as I got 185kw from a horribly de-tuned 'standard' turbo (so I thought)... then to find out on saturday arvo that I actually have an Apexi 380hp turbo!

If I had have won, I would have looked like a real asshole if anyone noticed I have an aftermarket turbo... lol

and not sure how the dyno reading can be out when everyone else was getting less than expected figures or close to expected! maybe something happened later in the day?

not sure why everyone is getting worked up? it was a fun day!!! and i'm sure ben was feeling pressured to get all those cars off and on! its not like its a proper tune!! so why is everyone hassling?!

either way.. thanks to adam, charlie, jas25t and steve for the day :P was good fun!!!

    • Thanks Dose.....    I appreciate it!!
    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain鈥檛 THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it鈥檚 fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head. • Ha ha ha, so they stopped the bearings spinning on the one you want, but then decided the crank hub should slip instead 馃槢   Stick to RB, at least you can work on it yourself. And now it doesn't smell of vapour   Also I still believe there's a chance your new flap doesn't "pop", as even though the engine might breath hard, it has a direct path with no restriction to the inlet, which when on boost should pull a bit of suction for you. If you do get pressure in the catch can id be very intrigued. Time to put a boost gauge on it, and a session at the track, then solid cover your vent and do another session
