meh...who cares...i have a wiper wipers are good and it shits me when i drive a sedan and it doesn't have one, especially when I'm trying to defrost the back window...

The reason why there are deep and shallow centre consoles is because of the airbag computer.

No airbag and single (drivers side) airbag cars have a deep centre console, and the cars with shallow centre consoles have the twin air bag computer located under them.

With the single airbag cars, the computer is actually in the steering wheel. You'll notice that the series 1 with air bag has a larger steering wheel to fit the computer in.

If you've got a shallow centre console and only one or no airbag at all, then for some reason you've got a centre console out of a twin airbag car.....
