Just installed my sprung carbonic 6 puk clutch off jim berry for my r32 gtr pull type. Only driven about 20 k's so far but the initial thoughts are very good. The pedal is very light. Lighter than stock even. I'm glad I went for the carbonic instead of the organic as it is very driveable for daily use as I use mine.

If you are trying to decide between the organic and carbonic and your worried about the carbonic being hard to live with for daily use. All's I can say is it is no harder to use than a standard clutch but you can definitely feel how much harder it bites. The clutch is rated at 4000lb clamping pressure.

I paid just over $1000 and that included a flywheel machine.

I managed to remove and install the clutch myself in my garage, so anybody thinking of doing it, it can be done on your own if you've got a bit of mechanical knowledge and a fair bit of patience.

I've attached some pictures of the clutch.

i've got a pull type racepace single plate on my r32 gtr , its rides lock stock. it handles 280rwkw easy,

would highly recommend this clutch, anything racepace really.

I got the same one, it's bloody awesome feels like stock and handles 287rwkw easily too, never had a slip and great in traffic. Highly recommended.

I recently bought a Full Monty from Jim, 4-puck 4300lb clamp. Drives like a standard car, quite unbelievable. I'll never use a twin plate again.

Took the car out ran 9.6 @ 144mph first pass, I've driven it a bit on the street since, powerskidded it in 3rd/4th along with my 3rd gear burnouts and launches at the track. Car makes 453kW / 607 hp at the wheels. Money well spent.

Certainly puts the 'strong single plate = heavy on the foot' myth to rest. Many mechanics don't know how he does it, but he does.

You ran a 9.6 with a full monty? I'm guessing AWD and you just drop it at 9k lol?

The real question will be how long it lasts, let us know how it is in 6 months.

after calling countless places to try and find a clutch for my r34 gtt, a quick call to jim solved all my problems. upgrading to an r33 gtr pressure plate and an aftermarket organic clutch plate, done and sorted, thanks jim.

... now just have to save up ~$800 + labour and flywheel machining

whats the verdict on the jb full monty clutches?? anyone had issues with em, clutch slip etc.. ill be running 300kw, is full monty organic 3200LBS clamp load enuf??

I managed to damage mine on the weekend at Willowbank drags

My car is a AWD stagea, 1750kg's

328rwhp ran 13.5

Has a JB full monty 3000lbs?? pull type organic

Clutch still works, but shudders and higher pedal. Did 6 launches at the track and approx 7-8000km's on the road

Will call Jim today to see what we/he can do with it. I do not believe it is the clutches fault, more like abuse.

what rpm were u launching at? I'm looking at getting nismo coppermix twin

3500rpm and then slip it to keep the revs up.

Just spoke with Jim for 20mins. Have decided to go the carbonic 6 puck with 4200lbs pressure plate

Due to some of the required work already done to the pressure plate, cost should be around $650-700 including flywheel machine

Clutch plate alone is $445 plus tax.

Reading the feedback on the carbonic plates, they seem very street drivable.

Jim belives they are a little harder to drive, but can handle the heat build up of multipul launches.

Nismo = big $$

To fellow enthusiasts

I Thought i'd also add my 2 cents after having clutch issues.

I had a Exedy HD clutch (yes the gay pink one) put in by the previous owner of my r33, it died after 1 track day and 2 weeks of street driving. So all in all it was about 4 weeks old. Pieces of crap, the organic version was just freaking heavy and a pain to use. I have a friend running the same power as i am (258kw) with the Excedy Button clutch in his 180sx, works fine for him, so maybe they arn't that bad, but from my recent experience ill never go back to Exedy.

Last week I replaced my slipping Exedy with a Jim Berry Organic 'full monty' - 10x lighter, the feel of the pedal is also 10x better as you release the clutch and apply power. Totally worth the money if you have decent power and want something to last (not that its been long). I highly reccommend him.

Mike.

bought nismo coppermix twin.. hope it lives up to its reputation

picked the car up with twin plate coppermix yesterday

initial thoughts, bloody awesome, no rattle, didnt stall it once, very smooth and good pedal feel

going to bed it in for 500kms and report back
