hey mate, ill be up for cruising once mine is finished (around 4 weeks or so till its run-in), just wondering what suburb you are from? ive seen about 3-4 pearl white ones, and a red one recently, i have been spotting one a week just lately, and before then i seen hardly any in the 14 months ive owned my stagea now.

cheers

Brad

cool!! yeah no rush... n if we arrange something b4 i'll keep a seat free for ya :) ive got a dark blue one looks jus like the one in SKs posts ...

Im in Kenwick, but love drivin the stag so dont mind where we all meet up ;)

its a rs four converted with gtr engine/5 speed and gtr diff, and r34 gtr brembo brakes even, engine is mostly custom parts only remaining gtr bits are block and head pretty much, everything else is changed :)

should surprise alot of modified cars on perth streets thats for sure

;) DAMN!!! thats an evil sleeper!!! any spare parts ya wanna get rid of let me know ... any ideas of 1/4 times it will pull??

low boost tune will be on around 17-18psi and between 500-550rwhp to protect the gearbox until i can afford an OS gearset and then pump over 25-30psi into it and max out the HKS t04z around 700rwhp :)

should manage mid-low 11s i reckon, maybe a 10 with 700rwhp and os gearset.

no bragging till its actually doing the numbers :)

oh ive also got a few spare parts, ill write a list up soon and let you know :)

they are getting too common already :( i have taken too long to get mine going since i bought it in november 2004 and did the rb26 conversion by early 2005, and then i shitted the motor, and almost ready again finally) i just wanna drive my damn stagea haha

so what area r u in red sky?

im from iluka (near joondalup)

Live in Pearsall (near Wangara) so Northside Nissan is literally around the corner from me. In case it helps, one of their service managers is the uncle of the guy who does all the compliance work for Autowholesale - Perth is such a small place.

cool mate, ive spent plenty of cash at nissan in the buildup of my engine/car and i usually speak to steve barnes as he know the skylines well unlike some of them.

wangara aint far, and cant wait for a cruise and see some other stageas close up

Yeh I must admit they do seem to know about the imports and have seen a couple in the workshop area. One of their young guys has an RB20DET in one of his cars.

You didn't order parts from them but hadn't picked them up by late December - eg tensioner pulley?

Web pic of my Stagea when it was still in the yard

    • Knowing how slow their other compressors are that connect to the cars battery, you'd want to hope it's one hell of a slow leak!
    • So why can’t the front pipe just be listed as custom make? why does everything have to have a brand name to it? or if you have bought the car like this and have no idea about anything at all or no knowledge what so ever of parts how are you supposed to inform them of what it is you have exactly?
    • Yep, I'd be interested to hear how it works out in the end.
    • Because all parts that are put into your papers usually are assigned a badging if they did not come with one. So other people can just check that badging to tell if it is the parts your papes outline. But my pipe has NOTHING on it whatsoever. No idea why this even passed as a Mines pipe to begin with. I see this going two ways: -nobody cares and it's a non-issue, but that is unlikely -the pipe will just have to be assigned a bagding, for sake of argument, a Mines logo, and the papers corrected accordingly If it interests you I will post what the actual solution ended up being. All I care about is that it has to sound equal length and nobody can screw me later on because of a pipe being illegal.
    • The fasteners to the pipe are not subject to TÜV I guess, if we really start putting nuts and bolts through technical tests I'm going to hang the people responsible and then myself. Usually on a modern-ish EU normed car, you would just replace the pipe. Because if you start hacking away at it and welding new pieces on the cops will definitely find a reason to tow your car. That is just how it is sadly. On old cars and imports with no clear "standard" stuff like that won't matter too much. Most cops or inspectors probably won't even really know what they are looking at. But there is experts for this stuff even among cops, and some of them know the rules to a T and even have extensive knowledge about many vehicles. For "just a pipe" to be legal it usually is included in a set of parts, like a complete intake kit or a full exhaust. For example my exhaust needs to pass a noise test, meaning they have a standardized test track with a set of instructions and they run the car through there 3x for an average noise value that is 75dB(a) at point x of the test track. If it's above that, fail. For a turbo setup to be put in your papers you have to do dyno runs, emissions testing etc. So quite costly
