Links
yes.. i would say it is your company.. not sounding harsh.. but having gone through the uni thing, trying to find a full time job.. it's alot harder than people think.. as for where else - I wouldn't bother with going to schools.. go to a job site either seek or careerone - that way atleast you'll get someone who is a) computer literate and B) hopefully interested in the job rather than doing it for the sake of applying (which alot of school people do..) Abo Bob
Jeez, talk about a hot thread. It's an office junior job. Photocopy, fax, take this here, go there and get this, a little bit of phone answering when receptionist is at lunch, scratch my back, a little to the left, get me a drink, fill the dishwasher, go and find one of these and buy it. I was thinking around $23-26k to start with but could go either way depending. Just interested to see what's out there. disturb3d
Mate, that sounds about right for the role.... as links said, post it up on seek or contact a recruitment agency, only problem with a recruitment agency is that you may have to pay them a commission based on the salary of the employee.. eg. 6 percent of the employees income.. but with the agency they do all the b.s. work. kinda know from previous experience when hiring some for a contract. Links
I think your probably on the money.. are you going to go full time or casual.. really.. that requires no real skill.. just the will to stick around hahahaha.. sorry.. anyways.. yeah.. you don't need anyone to special - i'd go for a chick as they tend to be a bit better at answering phones I guess Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/103499-where-do-young-people-look-for-work/page/2/#findComment-1902769 Share on other sites

yogi000
a gopher - no more than $25k and being 17-18 yrs without qualification is pretty damn good Got my last guy from Seek.com, but be prepared to cop atleast 20 emails a DAY....ATLEAST. Drove me mad at how many applications i got, but be patient, plenty of people who are fresh off the boat people trying to get a job out there & plenty of people who bullshit about what they can do. thats my experience with job seekers. satanic
The technical term for that position is "Office Shit-Kicker" I believe Now that the role has been revealed, I think the salary is correct. At least the DEO actually has to do something and has actual responsibilities!!! nate33t
I'm in North Shore. Just let people know you're on SAU and they'll come running. Beats working for an old woman like myself. Anyways goodluck with the search and anywhere between 23-26k is fair for an inexperienced school leaver. GoldZilla
Hold on, I work in the public service and I don't earn 50k... I think my area of the public service is the most lowly-paid of all of them (seriously!) Oh yeah, and you're right about the lack of job satisfaction!
