g'day everyone,

well, my boot lid won't stay up. i've tried to look inside the boot for maybe a strut or something but i can't see anything except two thin bars.

does anyone know how i could go about fixing this? if it's a strut regas problem, where are my struts?

hellpppppppp!!  :(  :P  ;)  :)

do you have an aftermarket wing fitted?

Thanks for the replies, fellas!

>HAVE YOU CHECKED TO SEE IF THE BARS ARE BROKEN?

They don't look broken - are they meant to be tawt? are these bars meant to keep my boot lid up?

>do you have an aftermarket wing fitted?

No, just the standard r32 wing...

thanks heaps guys!

The R32 doesn't have struts. The bars work like an anti-roll bar in the suspension to try and hold the boot open.

Make sure the rods are not broken (it needs to be more than "they don't appear to be broken"), and the ends are properly bolted down. If you have to, climb in the boot with a light and inspect everything.

ok, climbed into the boot and had a good look - from what I can see, the bars are definitely not broken (i traced my finger along both bars) and the ends look like they are securely fastened.

the bars look very thin though and i'm not sure how they could keep that boot up!

does anyone have any idea what i should do now?

Well, those bars hold my boot open, and I've got the GT-R wing sitting on it. Without the wing fitted, those rods literally throw the boot open.

Similar design on 240Zs helps hold that thumping great bonnet open.
