4wd Light And Exhaust Temp Light Are On - R32 Gtr

hey guys..

somebody else has had my car for the last few days and i went and got it today and now the 4WD light and exhaust temp light are on (4WD doesnt work)

i have checked fluid/fuse's for 4wd but it seems all good.

I dont know what has happened.. any ideas?

anybody know the fix?

The 4wd system uses a seperate ECU in the boot apparently. Have you checked the wiring to that? See if you can probe the power wire or something perhaps?

i will have a look. apparently nothing was touched tho...

is there a way he could have bottomed out and the car has hit something?

Dunno... the exhaust temp sensor scews into the cat, but that's towards the top of the cat. You could check that after jacking the car up (and using car-stands).

I can only say that the dual failures are coincidental; it is highly improbable that one would cause the other.

You've checked the AWD fuse down by your right knee? You might need to pull the cat out and check that it hasn't got itself blocked (from melted catalyst).

If the "somebody else" was a mechanic, and it was OK before he had it, then he'd better fix it. If it was "a mate", then he won't be getting the car again, will he?

i havent checked that fuse yet, any idea which one it is?

it was a mechanic that had it, but i now want to take the car to the only mech that hasnt screwed me.... gavin woods.

I was pretty sure the honeycomb was all catalyst - that's why it's so easy to "de-catalyst" them. But it could be catalyst-coated steel, I guess.

checked the fuse.. its fine..

ps.. I have an aftermarket cat with steel honeycombe
