A little off topic but do you really need one? I've always been curious about this as many Japanese tuning houses take it off on their GT-R's.

most ofnly take it off if they run an aftermarket raidator which is thick then your standard GTR one which because its thicker its closer to the fan therefore not needed! THe shroud is there to capture ALL the air prduced by the fan and direct it to the radiator preventing overheating B)
