Just a general question

It seems that nobody in Victoria does Stagea compliance.

I know QLD and WA are doing them, and if you look at the number of stageas for sale in those states, there are heaps.

Is it because

1 - No demand in VIC ??

2 - Just as easy to ship from QLD anyway

etc...

I reckon there could be a market here in VIC ?? what do we think ??

cheers

Maybe the cost of compliancing stageas just isnt justified once there are a few well established workshops doing it.

Meaning, its well known that to get a stagea to vic you just go through QLD, so imports have setup channels to do this and its just too "safe" like that for people to really care?

I think we will see it happen Michael,

Just a matter of time and yes money, the new SEVS system has added a lot of cost to the set up stage for a workshop. Also, the Stagea was not eligible under the old import scheme so it is a "new" option, maybe only workshops that are looking to expand their catalogue would consider applying for approval to comply it?

I think the main reason that we will see workshops in most states complying Stagea's in the future is the growing popularity of the car, it is still fairly unknown at the moment but it taps into a different market to a 2 door turbo sports car. I have wanted a skyline for years, now in the position to get one I find myself with a young family, the Stagea is perfect!

People buy Stagea's for all sorts of reasons but practicality and the reduced "boy racer" image would have to be a couple of big ones that got me interested and I know others have similar ideas...

cheers luke, I'm missing my staj

But, I am wondering if all those GTST/GTR drivers, as they get older, as we all do :P , are looking for a more conservative and practical transport with a lot of the attractions of turboed, 4wd RB25DET transport.

Carry the kids about during the week, hoon on weekends ??

Yeah I think you are right on the money, maybe it is just while the kids are growing up? Probably 15 to 20 year stretch these days... Then it is back to the 2 door!

How did you fair with the fires up there, didn't get too close I hope?

Cheers
