chops
From another forum: First a bit of history on the cause of the accident, below is a pic from the last time the car ran before Xmas, notice the front wheel. They tried to cure this issue (rather crudely), however on the run the wheel locked at 300ft, the front tyre blew and it just flipped instantly, I have a whole sequence, the car skidded into the wall headon on its roof, and continued on well into th ebraking area on its lid. For not familar with the car, its a twin turbo, reportedly making 1500HP, however they havent been able to get it to leave on boost, so it was running 9 second passes at 190mph! 1JZ.747
i read on V8 owners forum or it may have been dragster that it was a problem with the line locker on the car. what i dont understand is why you would need a line locker on a car with that much power, i doubt the brakes on the rear of that thing would hinder the burnout process. any who, i hope it gets rebuilt and run again as it woul dappear to be a good thing. 190 mph is impressive Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/103889-my-friend-mick-can-do-cart-wheels-at-wsid/#findComment-1911006 Share on other sites
MS-75
Hi Shane, the line locker set-up they are likely to be using is 'roll control', where the brakes are stomped when the car is in stage, and the button flicked, holding pressure in the front brake circuit to keep the car still. When the transbrake is released, the locker also releases and off the car goes. Also-that looks really really bad............
