Well it's here, arrived Wednesday in a not so glamorous fashion: See this thread

The cleaning has begun and I'll get some pics of it soon, the wheels are magic, kit and paint need a bit of a nip and tuck here and there but from 5 feet away it all looks pretty tight. Body is very straight and all nice and clean underneath so all concerns have now passed.

Off for Roadworthy in the morning then registration next week when the standard wheels arrive (I hope! gee I am glad that they are in the post and not the 18's, I would be peaking about now if they were!) So almost on the road in a little over 3 months...

Cheers

On the road! Finally!!! Far out. :

Getting the rego done was an interesting experience, I don't think they get too many fresh imports through the Geelong branch somehow. Fair amount of head scratching went on over the hour and a half I was there. The short little lady that did the inspection almost fell right into the engine bay trying to read the engine number! They gave me zero grief though which I was most impressed with.

Nice to be driving it after almost 4 months of waiting! Photos coming soon, but I am that busy at the moment I wouldn't hold your breath, it might take a while, I might get a chance to snap one or two on the weekend...

Cheers

Luke

Yay! I cannot wait to have my beast black :) :)

AMS...... Black? meh, I like your red. But I guess you own the car hey, so maybe I should just stfu.

Luke, well done, nice to have it on the road huh? :O:)

The Black shows every spec of dust! I am sure I will get used to it though...

Brendan I have no idea how you fit in a Stagea drivers seat! I am 5'11" and my hair brushes the roof, I have the seat as low as it will go and I am just fitting and feeling like I'm sitting high still. You have the twin sunnies too I think? Very tight and you'd need to slouch almost...

I slouch. And lean to the left slightly so my head is in the sunroof area. Oh well, at least I own a Stagea, might not get to drive it as I dont fit, but MEH!

hahaha LOL, going to have the drivers seat rails extended and engineered/certified soon. That way will have the drivers seat right back against the rear seat when Im driving solo.

Yeah good point!

The seat does seem high though so maybe they could look at dropping it (if you are getting it enginerred anyway) That may help even more?

Cheers

I luv my metallic dark green but it does show the dirt, which is most of the time as we are semirural with lots of red volcanic dirt.

Also i'm 6'2" and have at least 2" clearance above my head. Seat is right back and fully lowered at back and raised at front for leg support.

The best part of the driving position is that the B pillar is further back than the R30. Damn I was always banging my head when driving fast on twisty roads.

I probably sit closer to the wheel than most people of the same height, I hate having to reach out too far, maybe my arms are just short?

Yeah well its somthign I have wanted for a long time... who knows I might stay red. But it is faded like a bitch... looks pink most of the time. The car needs a spray... Colors are down to:

- Black

- Standard Red

- Bayside Blue

Standard Red is probably where the smart money is (only need to spray external, not door jams etc)

Nice Looking Black S1

BTW questions to those stageas owners who bought from Jspec. Does Jspec provide warranty for the cars that they bring in for you? Like 3mths or something on the car parts. Thanks

    • Hmm. Yes. I should have been clearer. 1000s for Haltech, for extra headroom. 725s for Nistune. You might even be OK with 640s, but if the possible power ends up much more than 300 rwkW you will run out of headroom on the 640s. That would probably be OK and a signal to not push it to that sort of power with Nistune anyway. At that level you probably do want to be thinking about engine protection functions. Oh, and all of that presumes 98 only, not E85. Well....the 1000s would allow you to run E85 at ~300rwkW territory, again, maybe sort of running out of headroom. Hard to tell with E85 - depends on the tuner as to how rich they like to set it up.
    • Yes.  The only scenario I can imagine when the answer isn't yes, is if you drive like there is highway patrol behind you at all times.  If your car currently runs, enjoy it and keep saving. Better costs more, keep saving until you can budget the better ECU. It's worth it.  Nope. Plenty of us making >300kw on unopened motors. Mine is unopened and makes about 350kw if I turn everything up, its fine (lots of caveats here, how the car will be used/abused, how long you expect the engine to last between rebuilds, how has the engine been maintained prior to coming into your ownership, etc etc).
    • Sorry just wanting to clarify, at this power goal, which should I be going? Also, More info regarding suspension, the rear upper camber arms were used to get the camber back to i believe around -0.5 ~ -1 degree (@ Road and Race in Rydalmere), I forgot the exact figure, but ALOT less camber than what it came originally which was like -2.5degrees. Are the traction arms still recommended? The bilsteins from SydneyKid, they've got 400lb/in fronts & 275/in in the rear, revalved to his specs. Intercooler, I'm just having a look at some on Rakuten.jp and some other japanese sites. Might get something from back there, GReddy, Blitz or HPI, all crossflow. Looking at roughly $450-$500 AUD + shipping... Theres not many choices except that chinese branded Justjap unless you go for blitz return flow. Yeah, only downside with Haltech is the price ahhaha, so expensive, and with all the sensors if I go that route... $$$$$ yeesh. Are headstuds/gaskets needed for <300akw?
    • Haltech fanboi reporting in. Buy the Haltech!
    • You can try shoving a borescope down there to see what's up.
