B0BB0
Hey guys, I have ran a 10 in my gtr, and i have been told not to come back untill the car meets andra requirements. the thing that i am stuck on is the rollcage/halfcage, i am still undecided if i will weld a car in the car or not, as i use it almost everyday. I was just wondering does anyone have any pics of halfcages that have meet the andra requirements ? and if so could you post them up for me to see. MS-75
A completely bolted in half-cage is not compliant - according the current ANDRA Tech Director Ken Dickie. At least the main hoop must be welded into the car. (back-stays and side intrusion bar may be bolted in.) Unfortunately however, due to the description present in the ANDRA hand book, this point is not clear (along with a boatload of other stuff-the ANDRA rulebook is rediculously light-on) I have been through the process of sorting what is and isn't compliant in the last few days as I am having a cage fitted to my car at the moment. A full cage(minimum 6-point) is required for 9.99 and under, and the half-cage (4-point) for 10.99-10.0. Hope this helps Sean Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/103983-rollcage-help/#findComment-1913530 Share on other sites

1JZ.747
i have half cage in the cressida. sean is correct the main hoop must be weld in as set by ken dickie head of andra technical. rear stay can be bolt in, i had mine welded in side intrusion can be bolt it. i did this so the car is street legal. JP fabrications on the central coast did mine, i was happy with the job and the price. speak to buster i believe he is in the process of getting a cage also. NA_R33
in qld to be street legal cars have to have a bolt in cages not weld in.... as stated in the light vehicle modification book... the way around this is to do both, weld it in put bolts through it and hope for the best. Sydneykid
jap cages dont have the required wall thickness <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have measured a few Jap cages and the wall thickness has been fine. The Japanese standard allows the same size pipework in all elements of their roll cages. The main problem is the main hoop OD is smaller than the ANDRA and CAMS standards. The other pipework elements are OK. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/103983-rollcage-help/#findComment-1926089 Share on other sites

MrBlonde
Bolt in cages or rollbars are not ANDRA compliant. Listen to those in this thread who have actually done it and obtained ANDRA tech inspection approval.
